My EL doe, that I got a while back is dropping weight like its her job. She was just wormed before i got her....she had an ear thing going on which I think i remedied, but other than that seems healthy. I have added calf manna and black oil sunflower seeds to her feed, and she STILL isnt...

orangish tint to a black coat..Moult?

My new black english lop buck has a orangish tint to his hind end area, and on his rib cage. I would like to enter him in an upcoming show, but obviously need to get rid of this dead hair. I have tried and tried to brush it out, no avail. Any suggestions? Also, is this normal for a moulting coat...

    Worms?

i have an english lop doe that has suddenly lost a lot of weight, she is an intermediate grand champion doe, that has lovely type and bone...so being a bit gangly is not usual for her at all. She is also showing a bit of irritation in her left ear, when i rub it for her, she literally kicks her...

    hey everyone

Well, i have been mia for a while, due to some sad goings on around here. I lost Rhythms entire litter, one by one. I then lost my new BEW holland lop buck, a week later I lost his brother, a VC buck, and then to my horror, I lost my EL buck Moose (the bunny in my avatar.) It really hit me hard...

5 days old should i increase feeding?

I have been bringing the doe to the babies 2 times a day and individually allowing each baby about 3 to 5 minutes to feed. The are coming up on their 5th day so should I increase time to nurse or frequency in feedings? I seperated mom due to her aggressiveness toward them. Thanks, logan

    Pics of the babies

SO far not impressed with my doe, she continually tramples them, has not fed them yet (she had them hours ago) on her own, and even clawed at one, which was when i took them away from her all together. I am going to continue to allow her to feed them, but under my supervision like i did tonight...

    7! 7! 7! 7!

YAY! Today Rhythm kindled 7 gorgeous little babies! All are alive and doing great...so far. She is pretty much ignoring them, and I understand that this is normal. I am PRAYING, that when she feeds them she does not smash anyone :nerves1(she has done so in the past)...other than that everything...

New bunnies added to my rabbitry

YAY! A breeding trio (1 buck/2 does) of mini lops, and soon I will be adding one more ELop doe, due to Rhythm probably not being the best candidate for breeding anylonger. I added new photos of my new guys, and a little regarding my hopes to begin a very very small BEW ML program as well...

    Pricing

When you are a brand new rabbitry, how do you establish your prices? I was thinking $40 for my babies. Is that too low? Too high? Both parents have been shown and are pedigreed, they are english lops. Do you go by breed averages when establishing your prices? Does the fact that you are a new...

what was your first experience with breeding like?

I was wondering if all of the breeders wanted to share their first experiences breeding. Was the litter successful? Do you still have the doe or any of the babies? What made you want to begin breeding?

Doe is nesting, but isnt due for 2 weeks

I bought a breeding pair from a rabbitry in washington state, and bred them about 2 weeks ago. Making her about 14 days along (if it took). -Today she is digging, digging, digging and more digging. I put a nesting box in her enclosure, and she is spending a ton of time in it, rooting around...

Well, Henry was sold to a man who has been looking for a English Lop for his wife, for their anniversary. He went to a really great home. In the mean time, I picked up a breeding pair of ELops, named Rythm and Moose from a rabbitry in Washington state and they have been bred. Rythm is 2 years...

    is this normal?

1.Getting your first bunny. 2.Within a week, getting second bunny. 3.Another week goes by, you contact a breeder for your third bunny. 4.As you wait for your new baby, you begin scowering the internet, discovering 3-5 new breeds you didnt know about, then begin searching for a breeder...

    one step forward, 6 back...

I am desperately trying to litter train one (the newest addition) of my buns, Henry. I give him frequent time out of his normal cage, in a 3x3 (maybe a bitlarger) enclosure, with a litter box, and a handful of hay inside the box, with food water near by. He pees in the box, but poos all over the...

    2 questions

1: My mini rex, sticks his butt up to edge of cage and pees outside of it. I know i know, urine guards, right? WRONG! I cant find them anywhere!! UGHHH! Also, when free roaming the house, he pees on or right next to my english lop. Who doesnt seem to mind, but i do! Is this just him being...
