    Bonding question...

I seem to have hit a bit of a wall with Jack and Bella. There are doing very well for only meeting a week ago. They can spend hours together, groom each other, and seem comfortable with each other. I tried to put them in a neutral cage (They had been in different bonding type environments)...

    Well we did it!

We brought home our second bun this last Sunday. He is a rescue from the same Humane Society, and is estimated to be a year or two old. He's a sweetheart, and we've named him "Jack." He looks identical to a Californian, but he's smaller (about 4.5 lbs) so I'm assuming he's a mix. The first...

    Unique rabbits

I know that most of us don't have show quality rabbits, per say, but love them all the same. What's unique about your bun (looks or temperament) that makes them even more special? Bella has a white triangle on her rear end, lol. You can see it on my avatar.:biggrin2:

Bella just about scared me to death...

Woke up this morning to her not eating. (hay, pellets, greens and even special treats) She was adjusting herself on her stomach and acting not like herself in general. I gave her messages, gave three doses of gas drops, encouraged her to move...etc...for hours...I was in the middle of packing...

    Sherwood Forest?

Bella is currently eating Oxbow Essentials with very good results. Out of curiosity I ordered I ordered the Sherwood Forest sample of the food you feed with Timothy Hay. Anyway, she really likes the Sherwood Forest. (There's not much she doesn't like :)) It seems like it is very...

First two candidates for Mr. Right!!

Bella is going to have her first speed dating session with two gentlemen bunnies at the shelter on Thursday. I'd like to present Bunny 1 and 2... http://www.giveshelter.org/component/adoptableanimalsearch/index.php?option=com_adoptableanimalsearch Select "rabbit" and scroll down the...

    First aid kit

Does anyone keep a first aid kit on hand for your buns? When I see a lot of threads concerning health related issues, I'm wondering if I should have some things on hand like Critical Care, probiotics, syringes, meds....etc.. What do you keep on hand for your rabbits in case of injury or illness?

    Diet/Pellet Question

I have a question for everyone...what kind of pellet do you feed (if you do), and how much a day? What else do you feed your buns? We give Bella 1/4 cup Oxbow Adult each day. (split into breakfast and dinner) Timothy Hay and fresh water all day unlimited, and 2 cups or so of fresh greens...

    Cecotropes?

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but I see a lot of rabbit owners talking about cecotropes, but I've never seen one in the month or so that I've had Bella. Do all buns produce them? Does she not make enough? Is it a bad thing that I never see them? (I assume she eats them right away...

    Possible illness question

Now that Bella has settled in nicely, I wanted to keep our eyes open for "Mr. Right." We are going to rescue a second rabbit, so I figure I'll visit some rescues, and when I find some good possibilities, I'll start some bunny speed dating. My question is, am I putting Bella at risk for...

    Bella's Story

I know that this probably belongs in the rescue section, but I thought I'd put it here so more people may come across it while they are lurking on the boards while looking to find their first rabbit. A few months ago, I decided to add a pet to the family. I'm terribly allergic to cats, and...

    Bella's addicted...

She's absolutely nuts over Oxbow's freeze dried strawberries. If she sees the bag, she comes running. I don't give her more than advised, but it would be so easy since she's so cute lol. :happyrabbit: She eats just about anything (just like her mom) but these make her just a bit more...

    Kale

We're having fun introducing Bella to new veggies and have a fridge full. :) Now, I read that spinach and swiss chard were high in oxalic acid and should be given in moderation. I was using this list as a reference: http://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/...

    Do other buns enjoy this?

Bella falls asleep like this in our arms...silly girl. http://s751.photobucket.com/user/mjpeter08/media/12fb9d3b-be80-4fa3-acc6-fbf907beae5f_zpsba6e89b4.jpg.html

    My Rabbit is Suicidal!!

Ahhhh...I'm stressed. We brought Bella, our 8 month old rescue doe home on Wednesday. She's been eating well so far, loves her greens and pellets, and I've seen her munch on hay a lot. She's also so affectionate! She loves to lay in our laps and cuddle. Now, the evil side of her...

    Our "Fluffy" Girl

We are adopting our first rabbit, an 8 month old spayed female Dutch this week. She's the sweetest baby....likes being held and carried etc.... She is a bit overweight. I think her last home free fed her and didn't run and excercise her enough. I'm going to make an appt with the vet...

    Housing Rules?

We are bringing home our first rescue, an 8 month old Dutch spayed girl early next week. I've decided to build her cage (along with my handy husband) so we can maximize her space. Is there a place where I can find specific rules about materials that are safe, and issues we need to avoid or be...
