Digging on me and my clothes?

Yep, Kiwi does this for attention, too. Usually when I'm standing; he wants me to come down to his level so we can hang out together. :D

    Indoor Dandelions?

Yeah, our cilantro is also doing better than our parsley, as well as all the other herbs we planted actually. And yeah, that might be the thing that's hard to simulate in winter: sunshine. We can aim lots of fluorescent lights at them, and put them beside the window, maybe that will work...

First Or Second Cut...Does It Matter?

We feed our bunnies timothy-based pellets, they love them. Just to let anyone know they are available.

    nutrition of flowers?

That's interesting, this site says apple blossoms and jasmine flowers are okay, and I'm pretty sure I've encountered these to be toxic elsewhere. There do seem to be differing opinions on many things regarding bunny care, though.

    newspaper as bedding?

Thanks for the quick reply. If any of the paper our rabbits were getting to were toxic, are we talking toxic in the sense of harmful right away and noticeable, or is it the kind of thing that gradually accumulates in their systems and is harmful longterm? Can I assume it's non-toxic since my...

    Injectable Penicillin & Selamectin

Just thought I would post an update on this. Okay, so we ended up treating both bunnies again, as both were showing symptoms. So that means Coco ended up getting two duplocillin (bicillin) injections, and Kiwi got one. The symptoms ended up returning, and by this point I wasn't really sure what...

    Baby smells

Don't think anyone answered about the lip-smacking noise. I'm not so sure about lip-smacking, but if it was accompanied by a sort of teeth chattering that sounds almost like purring, then yes, that does indicate happiness. :)

He wont let me hold him

I wouldn't push a bunny into doing something he or she isn't comfortable with. It would be good to gradually get your bunny used to being picked up so that you can do it when absolutely necessary (like at the vet's, for example, or when clipping claws). As for holding a bunny for snuggling time...

    nutrition of flowers?

What other flowers are safe? We've got lots of flowers around our place. I've been giving them dandelion flowers, will give them roses once those are out. I didn't give them apple blossoms because I read somewhere than they can have cyanide precursors in them, I think they might be mildly toxic...

First Or Second Cut...Does It Matter?

Hmm, we've not been able to find any deep green timothy hay bales around here. The ones we're getting now are more of a golden yellow color, smell is very sweet and pleasant, some seed heads, and the bunnies love it. The other hay we have is about half timothy and deep green, but unfortunately...

    Toby & Sammi's first date!

Awesome pics - your bunnies are so cute! Hmm, maybe I'll try "re-bonding" mine in the tub as well. It's conveniently small and neutral territory, after all.

Got back from holiday and ended up straight at the vets....

Poor little guy! Wow, that would be so terrifying. I'm glad he's alright.

    newspaper as bedding?

I tried phone book paper topped with hay, and that worked alright, but what I've found to be even better is paper towel topped with hay. It's much more absorbent and then during clean up it peels off nicely. Not as cheap, but works for us. Kiwi & Coco are big fans of shredding paper as well. Is...

    Indoor Dandelions?

Allo, everyone. My bunnies have been adoring all the fresh dandelions leaves and flowers they've been getting now, and I'm thinking of trying to grow my own indoors this winter so they can keep enjoying these minus pesticide residues and much cheaper than store-bought. We've harvested a bunch of...

Spirit has a cold? What am I doing wrong??Please help

Uh-oh, probably too late in replying to this, but I just wanted to mention that injectable antibiotics are much safer than oral for bunnies. Some oral antibiotics should never be given to buns (like amoxicillin), and while there are safer ones, they all carry some risk. Mind you, injectables are...

    Bunny Boyfriends?

Ah, okay. :) Haha, that's so funny, about bunny chasing the cat around. Whenever Kiwi's been around a cat, the cat's followed him around a bit while he ignored it (being more interested in the new environment than the cat), and then after awhile he would take an interest in the cat and decide to...

    Bunny Boyfriends?

Haha, yeah, bunnies are full of surprises sometimes. Often the one you think will be dominant won't be, and vice versa. Both Kiwi and Coco like to be dominant is the problem with my bunnies. Kiwi's 6.4 pounds, and Coco's 4.2, which doesn't sound like that much difference but when you're talking...

    The Stomach-Dropping Dead Bunny Flop

Seriously, guys, you get scared when you see your bunnies do this? Bunnies do this when they're happy! Not that you shouldn't check your bunny just in case, especially if it's hot, maybe make sure he or she's not panting away, etc. But yeah, my guys love to flop over, and they get this...

Spirit has a cold? What am I doing wrong??Please help

Rabbits can't catch colds. It sounds like it might be Pasteurella, which could cause sneezing, runny nose, runny eye(s). I know it can cost a lot, and we're in the same situation, trying to figure out what's wrong with one of our boys, Coco, who's been treated with duplocilin (what bicillin is...

    Only Hay?

From the reading I've done, most experts, sites, etc. seem to say that pellets are unnecessary, though if your bunny is on the skinny side it might be a good idea to feed limited pellets. I give both my bunnies a handful a day, which amounts to a smaller portion for Kiwi (6.4 pounds), who's of...
