    My daughter's Tan hopping rabbit...

Thanks to Sarah for the opportunity to bring Sammy into our home! She's a hoot! Kitty's been working with her on hopping, to enter at our 4-H fair (coming up in August). She's also been taking her to horse shows with us. Here's a picture that was taken by the photographer there. :)

Rabbitry updated...new cages and all. :-)

It has been a busy few months, to say the least! I got a really good deal on hanging cages. They're 30"x42"x18.5". The Flops love them! And I'm so glad that dumping trays is pretty much a thing of the past! I just use a push broom to gather the poop, then hose everything down. I have 100...

I think I'm finally on the right track...

After a year, I think I'm finally on the right track. My eye is finally trustworthy enough to properly evaluate my stock, and I've gained confidence in my bunnies on the table. No more holding my breath, waiting for the judge to rip my buns apart with their comments. LOL I'm feeling very...

And our 4 month old juniors

These three are the babies that are left out of Max's litter. They just hit the 4 month old mark today. We're going to rebreed Max at the end of the month, and hopefully the kindling will go better! This is Marcy. Her back half stayed posed, but the second I let go of her head she started...

Some of our 12 week old Frenchies "Hopefuls". :-)

We are swamped with bunnies, and loving every minutes of it! Very pleased with the juniors we have, and can't wait to see how the ones in the nest box mature. These pictures aren't really posed...the second I let go, they moved a foot, ear, or entire body. LOL But it gives you an idea...

    Doing the happy dance!!!

Sunday's babies are a week old today. Kitty's been taking care of them (they're in her room, so I trusted her. haha) but I decided to peek in on them a few minutes ago. We thought we had 2 broken lilacs (disappointing) and a solid chocolate. Imagine my surprise when I saw a solid chocolate...

    Polish fun @ 3 weeks...lots of pictures

I sit and watch and pet these guys almost all day...and my house shows it. LOL The little broken is still the smallest, with the biggest ears. LOL He/she might not be show quality, but it's still one of my favorites. It's the first to get into anything, comes hopping over to you like it's...

    Balls

The Dollar Store has some really nice cat balls. They're fairly big, very tough plastic, with a bell thingy inside. My Frenchies are having a blast with them, and they were only $1. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up if they were searching for a new toy for their bun. :)

Frostie's litter, pics of them all, and some sad news...

First, Frostie had 9 babies and all are doing well. There are 7 brokens and 2 solids. Something has been getting into my rabbitry, and has killed 6 of Adeline's kits and 1 of Marie's. I think it might be a rat, although I have never seen a single rat on the farm in the 18 years we've lived...

    More babies...Boo kindled 11

Boo had 11 babies. I believe there are 5 brokens and 6 solids, but I'll do a better count tomorrow. One more doe to go, then we're done for the year! It's hard to believe there are 11 babies in this little pile...but it's a deep pile. LOL

Size comparison between Frenchie and Polish kits. :)

This absolutely cracks me up! Now you can see my amazement with the Polish litters, after doing Frenchies all this time. It'll be fun to document them as they hit their milestones (1 week, 2 week, etc.).

Another Polish kindling and 2 Californians

It's baby bunny explosion here at West Wind's Rabbitry. :) We had a litter of Californians born early this evening, then a litter of Polish around 10 pm. And around 11 pm another litter of Californians. We still have 2 Frenchies to go, then everyone will be done. Here are the Polish...

Adeline did it again.... 10 healthy, happy babies. :-)

Adeline had her babies this morning. She had 10, and I think we have 6 brokens and 4 solids. It's hard to count when they were continually switching positions as I was trying to do a head/color count. LOL The one she didn't clean very well, and it just doesn't look "right". Nothing I can...

Nora had her litter a few hours ago. :-)

Nora, my smoke pearl chin doe, had her first litter a few hours ago. I just love this doe! She's the most mellow, laid back, personality-filled rabbit in my barn. As soon as she hears you coming into the barn she's at the front of her cage, waiting for some lovin'. She'll even jump out into...

    Polish babies...VERY chubby!

I really think she's feeding her kits too much...although I think she had just fed them before I got them out to take pictures. The broken one is still really tiny, but hanging in there. It looks about the same size in the pictures, but it's only about half the size of the others. They're 5...

    The girls, behind "bars". :-)

Well, they had free-run of the den. But since they haven't figured out what a litter box is actually for (and it is NOT just for digging in! LOL) I got tired of scrubbing the carpets. I set the Xpen up in here, so they can come and go as they please. But they were a bit surprised when they...

    Any camera experts out there?

My camera is giving me a "lens error--restart" message every time I turn it on. It was working fine when I took pictures the other day, then started it when I tried shooting the horses (same day). Used it again to take Polish baby pictures after that and then today we're back to the error...

    Nestle's new cage

A friend lost the last of her ferrets the other week, and she gave me this cage. It's huge! After a LOT of re-arranging in the den, and some bunnies moved to the basement (had 9 cages/rabbits in my den...way too crowded) I finally got the cage moved in. I still have to add toys and things...

They're here!!! Finally some Polish babies! :-)

Bella delivered 5 very healthy, very cute babies this morning. They all have nice plump bellies, so she's turning into a good mom. I'm not used to such tiny babies...I was almost afraid to even pick them up. :)
