Which is timothy and which is alfalfa??

Amending my vote, as I now see the alfalfa leaves in there. A is alfalfa/grass mix (and maybe some other stuff) B is timothy

Which is timothy and which is alfalfa??

Timothy has these things in it I vote that A is timothy, B is orchard grass. Neither look like alfalfa. Alfalfa has leaves like clover, not long grass leaves like in the pictures. Edited to add: Both bales look like perfectly safe hay to feed.

OK been trying to find German Flemish Rabbits

Lots of breeders of Flemish Giants in WA, are the Germans something different?

Recommendations for a Rabbit Run greatly appreciated!

Have you looked into rabbit tractors? (chicken tractors are almost the same thing, but sometimes don't have wire on the ground) I'm going to be making one for my crew. They were previously free range rabbits, but now they have all turned into escape artists. They seem pretty easy and cheap to...

    Is 10 degrees too cold?

Winter where I am usually is in the teens and 20's (farenheit), 15f is -9c. It can drop down to 0 though, which is -17c. My rabbits had no issues last winter. I give them a heated shelter and a thick layer of hay on the ground, they hung out in the snow and on the ice covered ground.

    Is 10 degrees too cold?

(he had a heated shelter, never went in it unless it was raining heavily) My experience has been that rabbits love cold. 10 celsius is 50 fahrenheit, not too cold at all.

    My new baby flemmies!

Thanks guys, I love them :). I check the girls periodically to make sure they're still girls, they are. And Basil's neutered. No baby bunnies for us!

    My new baby flemmies!

Did you read this part? (from my original post) "They're supposed to be "flemish rabbits", but I suspect mixes. Basil (in my avatar) was sold as a "flemish rabbit" too, and he's definitely a mutt. I don't care." Particularly the "I don't care" part. They're probably mixes, so what? And we...

    My new baby flemmies!

10 week update! I stopped weighing them because they stopped wanted to be picked up. But at 7 weeks they were around 3 lbs. I have them out with Basil. Everyone is doing very well, they all love each other. Hazel and Basil are rarely apart. Hazel tends to stick with Basil and follow him...

    White spots on coat.

Aha! The spots are not white after all, just lighter. Seems like she's just molting. But at 8 weeks? Hazel's doing it now too, but it's a lot more subtle. How'd they get so much older looking in just 5 days? :)

    Calmest rabbit breed?

My french lop was so calm, she earned the name "Lump". She was old though too, and deaf, and maybe half blind. But extremely sweet!

    White spots on coat.

Poppy just started getting these spots. Just random white spots in her fur. It started with her tail. She had a black tail, with a little bit of cream or gray, now it has lots of white. The spots seem to correlate with areas of shorter fur, so could her coat just be shedding and...

    Getting new Bunny

Is there any way to talk her into keeping him with the litter for a couple more weeks? I got mine at three weeks old, and they did ok. I tried greens with them, because I couldn't be sure they were eating enough pellets and they didn't eat much hay, but the greens always resulted in soft...

    Getting new Bunny

Well then, he'll be the luckiest bun in the litter. I have 2 7 week old Flemish giants that I've already had for almost 4 weeks (bad breeder). I'm loving them, such sweet buns! I also have a checkered/flemish mix who is not sweet, but has a fun personally anyway.

    "Fat" foods for buns

I've added oats and wheat germ to chinchilla food to help put weight on them, but I don't know if it would work the same for rabbits. I only did that for pregnancy/nursing recovery though. When they were sick, I just fed them regular food and the weight came back slowly, it seemed healthier...

Hazel and Poppy are 6 weeks old!

Or thereabouts :). This weekend I will have had them for 3 weeks, and they were "about three weeks" then according to the "breeder". They're doing awesome! They were getting too restless in their little travel cage inside, so as soon as the weather warmed up, they got moved outside to their...

    Basil got neutered yesterday

He was supposed to go in in the morning so I called at 1:15 to see if he was ready, they weren't able to do it in the morning but were getting him ready when I called. At around 3:30 they called to say he was awake and eating already. I went to get him shortly after. He has had no problems...

Harley hates being put back down!

Well, I only have two hands and manage it just fine. But I'll give an explanation if it somehow sounds so unclear. Hold the bunny close to you with one arm, cover it's eyes with the other. Bend down, put bunny on the ground. Bunny doesn't see the decent, therefore, doesn't feel the need to...

    New stinking ADORABLE bunnies

You're right, they are pretty adorable! Speck is my favorite, and the chocolate one. And all the rest of them. :)

    My new baby flemmies!

They grow incredibly fast, holy cow! I weighed them last monday, Hazel was 14 oz, Poppy was 12.5. Today, hazel is 20 oz, poppy is 19! They look like little rabbits now! :) Look! We have EARS! (their fur isn't scruffy, just soft and lays weird when I pet them) Poppy Hazel :inlove:
