I got Alaska when she was 6mo old and she was an absolute doll until she hit about 8mo and then I was dealing with the same behavior problems you are. They lessened drastically once she was spayed. I think that you'll be surprised at how quickly she will calm down. Either way, good luck...

We used a piece of fluorescent light grating cut to fit over the litter that keeps mine from digging. Alaska is a huge digger and it's helped out a lot, of course now she just pulls all of her hay from the hay rack and flings it around her cage instead :P I got the idea from Mrs. PBJ's litterboxes.

Alaska had a tapeworm when I got her and it went undetected on two separate fecal floats. Not sure what it would be called in the UK, but here the vet gave her 2 doses of Droncit.
