Going Between Garage & House Temps

I'm wondering if it's possible to safely bring a bunny back and forth between a 50 degree garage and 70 degree kitchen. I'm always cautious about sudden temperature changes and this seems too much for me. What if I give him ice packs when he's in to cool it down and run a space heater at...

How to keep my rabbits warm in the winter

We use a Snugglesafe heat disk for our bunny who lives most of the time in the garage. It doesn't last ten hours but it does provide warmth when the space heater isn't cutting it. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00008AJH9/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Before I can fully get a rabbit...

Hi FallenRabbit! When I was reading your post I was thinking that I would have been doing the same thing you are if my parents weren't already into having animals around. We did have rabbits and other animals and since I liked them so much taking care of them wasn't a big deal to me. I have...

Had to bring the bunnies inside

ZRabbits wrote: You know, I get the spraying part. What I don't get is after he gets all excited to see me finishes the spinning and spraying business, thenhe doesn't even notice me. Instead he goes and smells his pee. Jack is such an animal. It's 74 degrees this morning so I moved...

Had to bring the bunnies inside

Question--could being inside fora week majorly impact a bunny's sleep schedule? The last few days I've been seeingJack totally crashed on his side, snoozing away during the daytime hours. It's common to see him resting, but it's rare that I see him crashed like this.

Had to bring the bunnies inside

I am going to be SO happy for this heat to end. Jack has lived in a big pet taxi in my kitchen for a week now. After a few days of getting used to things he seems happy enough, but he's spraying so bad that I can't let him out for play like I normally would. He's got it for me something bad...

    Finding Baby bunnies homes?

I see notices for bunnies come through our 4-H newsletters. Our fair has a pet rabbit category which any kid can show in. A lot of town kids wind up with rabbits or other small pets.

Had to bring the bunnies inside

I brought Jack in due to the heat so he's spent most of the past few days in a large pet taxi in my kitchen. Now instead of spraying sometimes when he sees me, he's all hyped up and goes for me every time I get near.:rollseyes

    Too Perfect?

tamsin wrote: For the best demonstration, put on some nice clothes and stop to pat him before rushing out the door to something you're running late to. Chances are good you'll get a demonstration of how he can nail you in the face, shirt and pants in 30 seconds or less.

    Wire cage door guards

Older style report covers had plastic clips that we were able to use for this purpose. It's the plastic part that slides up and creates the spine of the cover.I can't remember where I got them but the part looks like this...

    Safe Temperature Difference?

Thanks, I should have mentioned we're not new bunny owners. We're extremely cautious about heat (air movement, ice packs and bringing him in when needed to the coolest part of the house). In the winter we run a space heater in the garage to keep it around 50 degrees and protect the cage so...

    Safe Temperature Difference?

Our rabbit lives in the garage, and I try to bring him in each day for play/social time. I just realized with the temperatures dropping I'd better check on what is safe, and possibly adjust our routine. It gets cold but we try to keep the garage at 50degrees. Inside is about 68-70. Living...

    Cage Help With Bunny

My bunny uses only one corner like that and we have the same problem. I put a large disposable aluminum pan under that area and it protects the floor. It needs cleaning off with the hose every now and then but it's a lot easier than cleaning the floor.

    Temperature Differences

The garage has been right around45-50 degrees and she seems comfortable at that temp. Loads better than last summer when we were on constant fan and ice pack duty. We took her to her outdoor run for about20 minutes yesterday and she was sooooo happy to be back out there. Biggest binkies...

    Temperature Differences

Thanks for the info. I'm just trying on warmer days to see how she does. We found out she doesn't like wet ground beneath her and is happier with exercise in the garage than no exercise at all. We have a little snow today and I'm going to give her a go at that.Tinkerbell loves, loves,LOVES...

    Greetings!

Thanks for the welcome. Oops, Tinkerbell the bunny is 9 months old. C., my daughter, is 9 years old. 9 months of age would be rather young for a girl to be in 4-H.
