    abscess..... help asap please!

*Update* I went to the vet this morning to see Kaluha before her surgery. She was so sweet... she started licking my neck and chin while I held her. I was so sad to give her back and wonder how the surgery would go... The surgery was supposed to go from 2:30-4:00. The vet closes at 4:00. I...

    abscess..... help asap please!

Pipp wrote: Thanks for the responses... She is a 2 1/2 year-old Netherland Dwarf. We live in Newport Beach, but the vet is in Westminster. I think part of the reason they aren't going to just treat it with antibiotics is the fact it's now already an open wound, and the fact it's...

    abscess..... help asap please!

So today I took my baby Kaluha to the vet after discovering a red lump under her chin yesterday. They diagnosed it as an abcess, and indeed it even managed to pop while they were examining her (not a clean process at all). The doctor has lots of experience with rabbits and is fairly certain...

    What kind of bedding?

I use aspen shavings. It is supposed to be freeof the odor that pine/cedar release, and it is the most economical. Ican buy enough for 6 cage changes for $8 :) Also, and this is just my personal feeling... I'm less worried about mybuns eating wood shavings than anything else. I don't trust...

    RAINBOW BRIDGE (2006 - CLOSED)

It's taken me a week to be able to post this. Last Tuesday I said an unexpected goodbye to Cinnamon, one of the first bunnies I've ever owned. After having her back legs paralyzed in June, she made an amazing recovery to full mobility. The determination she showed was inspiring. I remember taking...

Starting to think she might *not* be pregnant?

So my bun Spunky was bred sometime around the20th of last month. This past Monday she frantically gathered hay andarranged her nesting box. I waited, but nothing happened that night. ByWednesday, she was using her nesting box as a litter box. I've sincereplaced it with a new one, which she has...

Any way to tell how far along a female is?

Thanks for the replies. Just about four hours ago, she went crazy with collecting hay for her nest. After about half an hour of work, I figured she had to be getting ready to kindle tonight. Looks like a false alarm though... she's sprawled out beside the nest again. Oh well... at least the box...

    How much water???

I have five rabbits, all within 1lb of eachother. Two of them empty a bottle every day, one goes through 3/4 of abottle usually, and two of them last a couple of days on a singlebottle. Just like people, I guess there really isn't much pattern to it.

Any way to tell how far along a female is?

Long story short, we bred two of our bunnies while we were packing up to move, thinking the babies would be a nice addition to our new place. The problem is that with all of the chaos happening during the move, we now have a disagreement about what day that actually took place. We've lived here...
