    Hay?

Buy your hay in a bale. I just paid $17 for a 90 pound bale of hay. I was paying that amount for about 3-4 pounds of pet store hay! I have a DIY hay rack on Smudge's cage and I refill it with fresh hay everyday. He is a baby but he LOVES the hay. I haven't had to do anything to encourage him...

    Where to get bunny toys?

Make your own! There are lots of tutorials online for diy bunny toys. My bunny likes those way more that the store bought toys. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

    Cleaning Bunnies Cage

I scrub cages and litter boxes out with dishsoap after soaking in vinegar. I always do this outside so that the vinegar smell isn't too annoying. The soap makes the smell of vinegar go away and makes me feel better about the actual disinfecting. Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

    Red eye white rabbit praises

Do Californians count? My boy has few eyes and is mostly white. He just has the gray points. :-) I purposely searched out for a Californian baby because I had the breed before and they are always lovely, funny rabbits. Smudge is no exception. He is funny, smart, and already is fitting in so...

Just bought an entire bale.... How to store it?

Great. The no moisture should be easy, weave in the desert. :-) I have a huge Rubbermaid container that will hold it nicely I think. Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

Just bought an entire bale.... How to store it?

I just purchased a bale of Bermuda grass hay. It was much cheaper for me to buy a bale than to continue buying small bags of store bought hay. I did this before for my previous rabbits and the hay lasted us for a while. I want to make sure I a storing this new bale properly though so that I...

When to start giving free range time?

Just pellets, lol. He is so impressed by them that he will do almost anything for a few pellets at this point. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

When to start giving free range time?

We did something similar this afternoon except we ended up using baby gates to contain him in one bunny proof area. Thanks for the suggestion! Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

When to start giving free range time?

Smudge will have been with us for one week tomorrow. We have progressed nicely with litterbox training. He only pees in the box, no accidents in the rest of his cage. He will take treats from our hands and let us rub his head or his sides while he eats. I would like to start letting him start...

Super cheap and easy hay rack

Yes, Smudge loves it. Ever since I put the hay in the rack he has been using his litterbox much more consistently now. :)

Super cheap and easy hay rack

Just made a super cheap and easy hay rack for Smudge. I used a stackable bin from the dollar store, poked two holes and each side and zipper tied it to the cage. It cost me a dollar and holds much more hay than the little tiny one I was going to buy at Petsmart. I just thought I would...

It's been a LONG time... help me remember how to litter train a baby bunny

Smudge is here and he is lovely. He is settling in nicely. He is quite comfortable in his new home and let me pet him for a while today and took a few pellets from my boyfriend's hand. We have him in an XL large dog crate with his litter box, toys, food, etc. We will be adding a second...

    Help me with name ideas

I have my new baby. His name is Smudge. We had settled on a few names that we liked: Oreo, Smudge, and Charlie. He was definitely a Smudge. The second I chose him, his name jumped out at us. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

    Introducing Smudge!!!

We just picked up our new baby boy. He is a Californian. We met his mom and dad and siblings. My bunny was the most curious and friendly baby of the litter. We have named him Smudge. He was a GREAT traveler. I expected him to be terrified of the car ride but he hopped all over the carrier and...

attaching a shelf to an XL dog crate

I am setting my rabbit's cage. We are picking him up Saturday afternoon and we will be using an XL dog crate (the same size that my labrador retriever is crated in) for him to stay in when we are at work. We have his litterbox, toys, bed, and bowls all set up. When I was looking for cage...

    Bunny safe wood?

I know they don't NEED the wood but I am trying to have a variety if playthings for him. I was hoping not to have order anything online and use local wood from friend's trees since I know they are pesticide free. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum

    Bunny safe wood?

I am looking for a list of bunny safe wood. We are picking our bunny up in a week and I am getting the cage and toys all set up and ready to go. I know apple is safe but I don't have any apple trees nearby.

    Help me with name ideas

I really like to have names picked out or at least a narrow list to choose from. I don't like having nameless animals, no matter how brief the time will be. Sent from my iPhone using Rabbit Forum
