    Starting over!

We just moved into our first house-yay! Our 6 1/2 month old Dutch female has been "stuck" in her small cage for about 6 weeks now. She had a three-story condo, but with showings, we had to make her portable, so we bought one of those starter cages for small animals. She has been let out for...

Needing a definitive litter box training tutorial!

I already searched through the RO forum and library, but I think it would be great if someone (obviously more knowledgeable than I am!) put together a sticky on litter box training-something with all the tips/tricks/timeline, etc. Anyway, here's my story: we have an almost 4 month old intact...

    Smelly bunny bed question

We have a 3 month old Dutch who isn't litter box trained yet. We're using horse stall pellets and most of the time she'll pee in there, but the poop is in front of the litter box, even though her feed box is right next to it. I've tried scooping her poops into the litter box, but she isn't...

Help me solve my bunny mystery!

We have an almost 3 month old intact Dutch who has a large cage and free run of our den all day and night. I'm in there with her first thing in the morning for about an hour, talking to her and petting her. My daughter also picks her up and loves on her before and after school. Sometimes I let...

Getting rid of ants without harming bun

Our Dutch bunny lives inside with us and I recently discovered several small ants in her cage. When we get them occasionally in the house I've always just put out ant traps (the kind with the sticky goo inside), but I'm not sure of a way to rid her cage of them without harming her. Any ideas?

    Is this cage big enough?

We've got am 8 week old Dutch and I was wondering if this cage is big enough for her. As in, will she still need to be let out in a bigger area to exercise, or would this be sufficient? It's our old three-story condo of NIC cubes so it's 5 feet by 5 feet and 29" tall. She's so tiny she can crawl...

    Treats for training

We have an 8 week old Dutch and I'd like to train her a bit-give her a treat when she's been held and returned to her cage, and to "come" when called so I can get her back home after her exercise. We have some Vitakraft yogurt treats from our previous bunny-are those too much for her right now...

    New bun and exercise time

We just got a Dutch, probably 8 weeks old and tiny! S/he (pet store peeps couldn't be 100% sure) has a NIC cube cage and we'd like to let him/her out for exercise. Would a big pen (like an XL pen) be big enough if s/he's out for several hours a day and then back in the cage at night to sleep...

Room to run? Or just cage time?

Thinking about getting a new bunny. We currently have a three-level NIC cage condo but are thinking of just making it one level but larger, with more room to run (the condo is currently one cube wide, four cubes long). So my question is this: does a bunny necessarily need a whole room to run...

Keeping bun from our Christmas tree

Jellybean loves our fake tree and now matter how we try to block her from it, she gets underneath and starts nibbling at the fake needles! Is there something I can spray under/around the tree or something I can hang from it that will repel her? We can't even put our presents under the tree...

    What is with the circling?!?!

Our mini-lop, Jellybean, is quite independent. She won't let us pick her up, and we can get maybe two pets in when she's let out and then she's off. She's just not the cuddly bunny we envisioned when we got her. Nonetheless, when I let her out of her cage, she circles my feet over and over...

What has gotten into my rabbit?!

We built Jellybean a new 3-story NIC cage about two weeks ago. It took her a while, but she's gotten used to it and now hops from level to level (although she still doesn't play with the toys). However, recently, I've noticed a few new-and quite unwanted-behaviors: *She's pooping all over the...

    Scared of condo?

We just built a three-story NIC cube condo for our mini lop, Jellybean. The thing is, she's not moving between the levels. She's 7 months old and a decent size, but she seems scared to go from the upper level (where we placed her) to the lower levels, and doesn't jump up to the next level from...

    Harnesses?

So, while at the pet store to get Jellybean's claws clipped (she won't be picked up!!), we asked them to put a harness on her for walking. They put a "string" harness on-not the vest kind. She got home, I let her roam around, she went under the couch and managed to wrangle it off! How many of...

    Jellybean

We got Jellybean at Easter when she was two months old. She's very independent-not wanting to be petted, hides under the couches, but we're trying (and she's very trying some days as well!). I'm excited to be on RO so I can learn to take better care of her.

Picking up and brushing my bun

My 8 month old mini lop is very independent-almost cat-like. She likes to hang out under the couches, doesn't like to be petted when she hangs around our ankles, and thrashes every time we've tried to pick her up (about three times since we got her as a 2 month old). We took her to the pet store...
