    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

This is a tough one. Rabbits are so sensitive and the older buns are at a much higher risk when undergoing surgery or a procedure. Having 2 elder buns myself, I would be inclined to start supportive care and not have the surgery due to the high risk of the bun dying on the table. I'm so sorry...

Need help making a hard decision

My 8 year old bun had what we thought was an EC exacerbation 2 weeks ago. He was on Panacur for about 10 days and his hemoglobin dropped to less than half, liver enlarged. We stopped Panacur. For 3 days he’s been on SC Fluids and Critical Care. He smells his food (all kinds of hay to entice him...

HELP! Wild baby bunnies in a friend's yard

What should she do? Should she try to move them out of her yard? I have no idea. Her dogs will eat them if not! I told her to call SPCA wildlife tomorrow but what should she do for now?

    Can buns eat beet tops?

I got a bunch of beet tops at the farmer's market tonight. They were mixed in with carrot tops. Can rabbits eat beet tops? I looked online and some sites say yes, while others say it can cause gas and GI stasis.

    Watery eye and thick mucous

I have a new foster bun. She's a tiny albino rex. She saw the vet before I got her because she had thick mucous developing in her left eye, and her right eye is very watery. The vet prescribed Ofloxacin/mucomyst solution for her eyes (twice a day), along with warm compresses and massage...

We have a lot of rabbits for adoption in Monterey, CA!

Monterey County's Animal Friends Rescue Project is overwhelmed with rabbits. Two weeks ago, 75 were found dumped in a field. Local vets spayed and neutered all of them, and many went to great homes and foster homes. However, many are still up for adoption. If you're near this area and...

How do I get a dirty bunny clean?

I got a bunny out of the shelter today to foster for our local rescue. He is all white, and was dumped in a field with 75 other bunnies. :( He is covered in yellow stains, and his feet are filthy. I did take him to the vet right away, and she suggested just wiping him off with a wipe. I tried...

    No eating, pooping or peeing

It took about 10 days, but Rodger Rabbit is back to normal. The olive oil and pineapple helped. Poor guy--I was constantly shoving syringes in his mouth or poking him with a needle. I'm glad he's back to his old self. I just ordered the book, too!

    SnuggleSafe?

I have one and my buns LOVE it! I put it in the middle of their bed and they both curl around it. The heat lasts about 4-6 hours. Totally worth it!

Successful bonding for buns who don't get along?

So we have a 10 month old neutered male who was bonded to his brother until they hit puberty and began to fight. He has been a single bun ever since. We adopted a spayed female bun (age unknown, but acts young) and tried to bond them. We took them for a car ride together in a carrier from a...

    No eating, pooping or peeing

Thanks for all the replies. I did purchase a pineapple and have some olive oil but didn't find aloe vera today. I'll look for it for next time. Today he is acting much more like himself. He is fighting me viciously with the meds and ate some hay. He is still passing small, hard, infrequent...

No. What can I give for a laxative?

    No eating, pooping or peeing

I just gave him more (very watery) critical care but could only manage 15 cc's. He fought me tooth and nail. I was afraid it would be too stressful for him to continue. I'll try again in a few hours. What would cause an obstruction? I did listen to his tummy with my stethoscope tonight...

    No eating, pooping or peeing

He was fine the first few days. Didn't come out of cage last day. She couldn't tell if he was eating or pooping since he has a mate.
