2 of my 3 pairs are mother-daughter, my strategy is to keep the doelings with mom for 6 months and see which get along best.
Imho it helps a lot to design their space so that there are seperated areas, no dead ends, and levels. My setup is two hutches per pair, connected by a tunnel, so they always can get out of each others eyes if they feel like it. If weather permits they spend daytime in the garden.
