In my house, my back porch is separated from thekitchen by a door with a 'cat door' within it. Raph (who seems quitethe observant rabbit) decided that he would give it a try, and - oncehe managed to figure out that the legs have to go through the doorbefore the body - began using it as well...though until the otherevening I didn't realize he was doing this. (Sometimes I think that hebelieves he is a cat too...but that's another story.) Anyway, the othernight I put my dog outside, left the outside door open so she could letherself back into the porch, then closed the door to the kitchen andwent into another room. A couple of moments later I returned to thekitchen, only to discover that Raph was gone. So I went to the backporch, then outdoors, and there he was, following Kaya around in thesnow. He was having a grand time, hopping through the banks with thosebig ol' ears of his flopping away. And ever since then he's beenescorting my dog on her evening forays in the backyard.

So yes...my bunny loves the snow! Every time I open the back door now Ihave to do it quickly if it's too cold and I don't want Raph out there,as he comes running as soon as he hears the creak of the hinges...andno matter where he is in the house, he hears it! (It's those dangedears...they're like radar!) :bunnydance:

Okay. I'll post a picture of my bunny a fewmonths ago. I lost my good camera (ugh... not again!!)and my new onejust has a wiring problem. so I will post a bad picture. lol.

Ah, yes. He does have a cataract. He's still young- but it's genetics(sp?). His mom Trixie just got one too. He can still see a little, though. its only in that eye.

All you people and your rabbit pics are so awesome! My little lop goes outside in the snow sometimes, too. My husband and I open up the back patio doors (sliding) for her to experience the snow for short periods of time. She is extremely curious, and when she wants to come back in, she patiently sits and waits by the patio door for us to open it up!

Reading all your replies leads me to a question...If the temperature in my house is 66 Farenheit, would it hurt Skippy to go outside in Weather that is like...20-30 degrees F. ? I would really like to take him outside for a walk sometime or something, but I fear the temp. change would hurt him.

Your question is interesting. This is what I usually do...I take Thors' lead...if she sits by the patio doors looking longingly outside...I say "Do you want to go out?" Then I slowly open the sliding door...and..if she still sits there and does not move, I go to step 2. This is when I give her a gentle nudge on the rear end...if she buries her back paws in the carpet, this means "NO". If she, on her own free will gives way to my gentle nudge, she is on her way to outdoor winter exploration. There are many times, I believe, where she wants to make this a game. She's probably bored inside and wants to play 'guess what I want to do' all morning.

My bunnies don't know what snow is, hehe. :)

i am definatly taking chester out in snow tommrrow. but just to be safe i have a q:

How many inches can it be for a bunny to be outside? like if its a foot of snow out there can a bunny be in it? or i can dig a little hole?

well..we had about 2 1/2 inches when she went outside..it kept snowing and i dont know how much we have now, but peapoo will probably get to go outside again tomorrow...i wouldnt take peapooo outside if we had a foot of snow just because she probably wouldnt be able to move very good:shock:

Bunnies are related to the snowshow hare, so don't worry about your bunny in the snow!
