    Seasonal decorative corn = snacks?

Sometimes I'll get some dried corn on the cob for my buns and give them a couple kernels now and then for a treat which they adore. Around this time of year there is the decorative, untreated, Indian corn (the large kind) that is super cheep. Is this corn okay for buns to nom on?

    Fleas

I've been reading on natural ways of killing fleas and came across Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) as an ingestible option along with using it as a dusting powder. Does anyone know if I dust the carpets/pet bedding with it if it will harm rabbits?

    Fleas

Lady in the apartment next door has a dog with fleas and I happened to notice one here this morning, caught a few in a flea trap while I was at work so I have little doubt that they have crossed over to my poor buns by now, though I haven't seen any on either of them yet. I sifted through some...

    Spaying questions

They are 8-9mos, they get along fine, though grumpy about mounting, they have never gotten into a spat that resorted to biting or scratching. My main interest in spaying is for hormone settling and reducing their chances for cancer.

    Hypoallergenic breeds?

perhaps I should rephrase/title that to 'non-shedding' rabbits?

    Hypoallergenic breeds?

I'm alergic to a lot of furry animals, rabbits too apparently </3, though it's something I'm going to buck up and take cause I love my buns. I know there are hypoallergenic breeds of dogs, and even some cats, but are there hypoallergenic breeds of rabbits?

    Spaying questions

They do get along well, though they get grumpy at each other for mounting attempts, so I do want to do the spay. It would also be good so Sable won't pull her fur out over another false pregnancy. The only other vet in the area that accepts rabbits has a higher rate. I'll try calling the...

    Feeding Question

From what I've been getting from reading posts is pellets should be split into an am and pm feeding and their hay should be a 24/7 buffet. I'm sure someone with rabbits in mass will be along in a few min for a definite answer.

    Spaying questions

So my buns had their first visit to the vet today, Sable came in at 2.1kg, Rice at 2.12kg, and their much needed nail trim was a success (though they are very pissed off with me right now). I do want to get them spay and asked for an estimate and this is the list they printed me: IV fluids...

    Leafy eatables and stick snacks

Would baking the branch reduce or eliminate the dry out time?

    Leafy eatables and stick snacks

Thanks for the list links. I'll have to print it off for next time I go bunny snack shopping :)

    Leafy eatables and stick snacks

I know leafy greens are fantastic for buns, save iceberg, but what about leafy purples and cabbage? I also have some questions about other veggies such as eggplant, zucchini, asparagus, cauliflower, chives, peas (in the pod), potatos (cooked or raw), root vegetables like turnip or parsnips...

    Keeping their cool

Isn't putting ice in their water bad? I thought it always had to be room temp Do granite tile tiles keep the cold longer then ceramics? Would glossy/painted tiles be bad for rabbits? I'm pretty sure I can pick up some slightly damaged tile from a flooring store for super cheep/free and just...

    Keeping their cool

Since I'm a person of very limited, and tight, financial means I need to look ahead and budget, budget, budget. Looking ahead to summer I'm hunting for the best ways to keep my rabbits cool in all the heat and humidity. My apartment is small, with matching windows, and lacking air conditioning...

What's the background behind your bun's name?

When I first got my buns I didn't want to name them right away because I wanted to make sure we would all get along and see some of their personality. Sable was named after Old King Hamlet's beard from Shakespeare's Hamlet. She also easily carries a grudge, though I'm sure the ghost had more...

    Bunny Discipline?

NorthernAutumn: I'll take a picture of the cages as soon as I find where the camera is as, much like my cellphone, my buns enjoy stashing away anything I have a bell charm on. The cages are 45x77cm and have a mesh(1x1cm) bottom, half of which is covered with a bunny blanket. Sable's cage is...

    Bunny Discipline?

Sable has a very aggressive, bossy and generally unwanted behavior at times. Such as shaking the cage when it's not time to be let out for play time, such as the middle of the night, or being too aggressive during play. Since I have a very small apartment, and don't want her to associate her...

    False pregnancy behaviour. . .

My lop would be about 7mos however I am unsure how old the other is as the pet store seemed to have fudged about her age and she may be closer to 9mos. I'm a little concerned about spaying as they are both extremely active and don't know if they'd pace themselves during the healing process...

    False pregnancy behaviour. . .

Neither of my buns are fixed and they are both female, yet twice now, one of my buns has acted pregnant with full on nest building and even fur plucking on the last two days of the event. All in all the behavior lasts roughly a week from start to finish. I know they began humping as a dominance...
