Need some advice about my buns - about rehoming

Well guys here is the deal. Once my schooling is over with I will be off to China so I thought I should check and see how to bring my buns with me. Unfortunately there is absolutely no way to bring them along, rabbits can't be brought into the country. Though this is still a few years away I...

Bunny fights, when and how to break up?

I read that when bonding two rabbits you are supposed to let them do whatever as long as it isn't to the point of a bunny fight. I've been letting my bunnies smell each other through the bars of their kennels. When they are doing this they do sometimes try and claw at each other but it is so...

To pet or not to pet?

That is the question. I know Winston doesn't like to be touched. He'll go out of his way to swat away my hand. Poplar on the other hand won't move at all when you pet him. I know he is likely scared out of his little mind but I'm wondering if by petting him every so often I can teach him that...

The first bunny date - How did mine go?

Ok so I finally introduced my bunnies to eachother (they are both male. It happened in the bathroom they could be about 3 feet apart or so. They mostly ignored each other I had a carrot for each of them on their respective sides of the room. Winston did bug Poplar, he chased him a bit (I think...

    Broken claw?

After looking at Poplar's foot after a bunny date I noticed his claw is basically at a 90 degree angle from his toe. There is no blood on his foot and he doesn't walk any different. He is a hider and I've never been close enough to him to notice it before so could it just be the way his toe nail is?

Never leaving his box, should I remove it?

Poplar hasn't left his box for anything but his litter box in close to three days. He stretches to his food dish without having his hind legs leave the box and I think he is getting his water just from veggies. He won't even leave for treats, veggies left out of the range of his box will just...

Eating cardboard and towel + cage pulling

Though I'd knock out three questions in one thread. Winston eats the cardboard he rips off but he only does it if he has ripped off a thin paper like piece. The rest he shreds. When should I be concerned about how much he's eating? Poplar hardly eats paper but he does nibble on towels. Again...

Letting Winston out of his cage, how to control him?

Winston loves to run around and explore outside his cage but he won't let me pick him up and doesn't like me standing around him so how can I get him back in his cage? Also he seems to poop just anywhere when he's out instead of going to his litter, even when his litter is in the same room.

Learning As We Go - Winston, Poplar and me

I can't even tell you how excited I was when I got the message that Winston was ready to go home early. Turns out the little guy was already fixed. Pool little Winston has been to the shelter twice, once when he was originally surrendered and again after seven months of living with an adopted...

Play pen set up and cardboard house... Will he jump out?

So I have a playpen that is about three feet high and have built my bun a little cardboard house that is about half of that. He just loves it and has been remodeling but now I have a big fear that he might jump on it and try and jump out of the cage. Should I get him a box so high he can't jump...

    Welcome home Winston!

Well Winston unexpectedly came home today. I'm so happy :bunnydance:. I fell in love with him the second he inched out of his box into his new home. He is a very shy guy and when I came in to give him his food and drop off a few times he would go stiff as a board as soon as he saw me. I have a...

Anyone in Edmonton have any extra bunny equipment they are looking to part with?

Since I am really considering taking up the challenge of bonding together the two boys I like I am now faced with having to get double of everything. Of course I would get them regardless but since I am going to have no income for three months (taking a course for a new career) I'll take...

Temporarily keeping bunny on tile floor?

I have an exercise pen set up all ready for my adopted bunny and I was wondering if it would be ok to keep him on tile floor for a little. The shelter says he is litter trained but I want to be sure he likes the placement of it and minimize any difficulty in cleaning up accidents. It would only...

    Bonding two males?

Is it possible to bond two older altered males? I'm looking to rescue two rabbits but they are both males and a little older and I haven't heard good things. Is it possible to do this or will I have to keep them separate forever? :( I have a dog play pen style cage for them to live in so I was...
