    RIP Cooter

I am so sorry to hear of Cooter's passing. He was a beautiful bunny... My Little Hoppy Hoppy was a big chewer as well, and I'm wondering if heate something he shouldn't, which could have contributed to the stasisthat killed him! He was honestly very lucky, as he chewed through a tonof cables...

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

Well, last night he seemed overall happier. In fact, when he started sniffing around the cats again (he's not neutered yet and is a wee bit confused...he tries humping the cats!) I figured he was feeling better! But, still, I've kept a good eye on him. He was quiet today and hid behind the desk...

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

Well, my husband has gone to get some simethicone, and I have managed to speak to the vet... For some reason,I dialled the right number before, but didn't get through to the right person (I triple checked...very strange!). She told me I could try paraffin oil in case he has an impaction, and...

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

I think I'll get some simethicone (not sure what it's called here in Australia, but I remember giving babies something called Infacol, and I'm thinking it might be the same thing...) Okay, I just looked up Infacol and it's simethicone. The stupid thing is I had some at the end of last year and...

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

Ooh! He just did a poop!! YAY! It looks a bit small...but still... He also nibbled some paper, so I offered him some hay and pellets. I've yet to see if he'll eat them... fingers crossed!!

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

Grr no luck with the vet :( I ring up 2 minutes after they closed, and got down the emergency out of hours number. I rang the number and it was wrong! I double checked, but I definitely rang the number they gave me. So...I found a syringe and started trying to get some slurry into him.However...

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

He is hiding away, and isn't chasing the cats(which is his favourite pastime!) and he refuses to eat hay or a pellet slurry (off a spoon as I don't have a syringe). I tried to open his mouth to force it in but he was very resistant! Anyway, I figured it might be gas so I massaged his belly, and...

Flopsy Bun-Bun may be going into stasis :(

He definitely did some poops yesterday, but when I swept up I thought there were less than usual. However, that could be because he was using the litter tray, so I didn't worry too much. However, I got up in the night and saw that he hadn't eaten his pellets, which sent off alarm bells! I...

    Can you see your house?

Here is my house from Google Earth (which I downloaded the other day). It's really easy to see because the roof looks bright white!! Next door to the right is my kids' school, so it's very handy :) Cheers Fiona

    Tattoos.....

Just to let you know, tattooing on the ribcageHURTS!! I know from personal experience :) The tattooist told me thatcertain areas hurt more than others to tattoo, and the ribcage isapparently one of the worst... But I survived it :) I don't have any pictures, but the one on my side is a black...

    Disturbing Question...........

Wow...that is disturbing!! Rendering animals... Our deceased pets have always been buried in the backyard, and I'm very thankful we've been able to do this!! I think if I wasn't able to, I'd look into cremation or a pet cemetary. The alternative is just horrible!!

    Dream Rabbit Area

Firstly, I would get more buns :) Then my buns would have their own room with access to outside. Theoutside would be a courtyard type area with glass, but enclosed orenclosable roof (so they could go outside at night and be totallysafe. I am not totally sure how it would all work :) Of course...

    back yard breeders

I'm sure that not all backyard breeders are"awful" they may just be people who don't think about the consequencesof their actions! Maybe they get a couple of bunnies and those bunnieshave a litter, so they decide to sell the babies. We had some people in our area recently who had a "puppy...

    Bunny's not drinking

I would say yes. I'm no expert, but I know bunnies should drink regularly! Has he been pooping and eating?? If not, or if his poops are looking different to normal, I'd say you should take him to the vet ASAP. You can also syringe bunnies water if they don't drink, but you have to be very...

    This is Luey

He looks like a really cute little guy :) My bunny had a ring around his back leg when I got him, too. Thebreeder took it off for me as I'm not planning on showing him, and alsobecause it could cause problems if he gets much bigger!! I hope one day my husband comes to love bunnies as much as I...

    Should I get him?

For starters, my biggest concern is that at onemonth old those bunnies are too young to be sold!! Most places aren'teven allowed to sell bunnies under 8 weeks old, so I would be worriedabout taking him away from his mum too young!! I also don't know how well a baby bunny will bond to a much...

I'm not sure which lop my rabbit is.

You could also have a lop that doesn't reallyhave a breed at all...Here in Australia, in pet stores especially, Isee rabbits marked as, "Rabbits", "Dwarf Lops", "Lops" without aspecific breed... Recently there were a lot of rabbits in the store, with very diverse markings and colours, and I'm...

    I am such a sucker.

Awww she is a real cutie :) She looks like my daughter's mouse Eek who died a few weeks ago :( She was such a pretty mousie :) I am betting she'll have 7 babies...but I don't know why...it was just the number that popped into my head!! Baby mice are sooo cute (at least, once they've got fur :))

    Nervous and Excited...

As for moving...if you're only moving half an hour away, it would be no problem at all for the bunny. Many buns have moved much further. I bought my bun last weekend, and that was about an hour from my place, and he recovered very well (considering he was moving to a new home with new people!!)...
