    Rabbit size

Pip weighed 4.5 lbs when I brought him home. He is now 3lbs. I confirmed with the sanctuary that he is 2.5 years old and the neutering certificate confirms that. It’s literally the first time in thirty years of taking care of rabbits that I’ve seen such a difference in size for an older rabbit.

    Rabbit size

I adopted a rabbit that was 2.5 years old in February. I know he wasn’t a baby because I had seen him in October waiting to be adopted. When I adopted him he was a ball that fit in my palm and was severely overweight. It was the first time I saw a mini Rex rabbit be ‘mini’. Months later he has...

New bunny not pooping or peeing

He certainly not the same vet I go to now. But I believe he wanted to fix an ongoing problem at that Petsmart. Such as, the long term health of rabbits at the pet shop. After THAT incident, the pet shop stopped adopting out rabbits from that shelter and had stricter rules for adoption.

New bunny not pooping or peeing

When I adopted Frankie at Petsmart I had a similar situation. We adopted two rabbits. One of them was sick, I brought it to the vet and the vet said he doesn’t take care of sick animals. I was told to return the rabbit and request they take care of the rabbit before I take it back home. I...

What's you buns favourite food ?

Cilantro goes fats in this house. But so does nuts and seeds. A hulled sunflower seed is trick worthy.

    Bunny care from 5 years?

Yes your rabbit needs might change over time. Younger rabbits eat a high fat pellet than an older rabbit. Cages might change depending on their specific needs. You can prevent having to get a different cage by creating a pen with those wired cubes. Though it depends on your lifestyle too. An...

My rabbit recently started peeing on the couch! I don't know what to do!

Territory wars. He thinks everything is his. Do you have a litter box in that room? If not, a litter box might make him less into marking the box. Also just catching him in the act and putting him in the pen can help. Though it all depends how long it’s been since he was neutered.

    Neutered Rabbit still sprays 😱

I thought that would be the answer. 😞 I’m pretty sure he was show quality. He has a tattoo in his ear that says ‘BOP—-‘ and some numbers blurred out (maybe a 4H rabbit). It became apparent that he was caged most of his life. He was a lot fatter and didn’t care to explore anywhere but his food...

    Rabbit names!

Anytime I call for a vet appointment for Tax Return the staff goes into a giggling fit. 🙃 unfortunately the comedy is done since I re-homed her to a friend.

    Neutered Rabbit still sprays 😱

I adopted an older rabbit that still sprays. Is there anything I can do about this? It feels like territory war with my very dominant female mini Rex. Help! Some background: I adopted a male mini Rex rabbit who is 2.5 years old. His name is Pip, I joked that he was probably named that because...

    PLEASE HELP

Yes, my vet prescribed that I give Metamucil if the rabbits aren’t pooping for 10+ hours. It’s to help with blockages. Of course you have to make sure to feed the rabbit fluids to ensure the medication works correctly.

Flemish Rabbit Needing to be Re-homed: Syracuse, NY

I hope I can find her a good home too. I don’t want to just hand her over to SPCA and she be stuck in a small cage. She’s never been in a cage before. I love her so much, but I can’t have another incident.

Flemish Rabbit Needing to be Re-homed: Syracuse, NY

This is a hard post to write. I have already contact SPCA. I am looking for someone who is a knowledgeable/responsible rabbit owner. Preferably someone without rabbits right now. I have a 9 month old Flemish, 7.5 lbs. I had her spayed November 2019. I have two other older mini rex that don’t get...

    PLEASE HELP

My vet had prescribed me metamucil. I get the off brand since it has less junk in it. It’s basically Psyllium husk. A teaspoon in some water. I don’t even bother trying to give the whole thing. That and a few syringes of water and they will start pooping normally within 15 to 30 minutes. Best...

    Bunny bite: Any quick advice?

Thank you. I did do those things earlier (of course she ate the neosporin). But I wasn’t sure what else I should do. She’s chittering next to me, so she’s obviously fine. It just looks worse than it is. 😞

    Bunny bite: Any quick advice?

My mini Rex got bit on the lip today by my Flemish rabbit. The Flemish was in a pen and the mini Rex put her face in the pen. I didn’t even noticed what happened till my Rex sat on the couch next to me. She acted like nothing happened, but now her lip is swollen and I am not sure what to do...
