    Pregnant New zealand!

If she was only bred 9 days ago it's too early too put in a next box and it would be very strange if she was building a nest this early, maybe she was just playing in the straw. I would not put the next box in until 28 days into the pregnancy to prevent her using it as a litter box, if the nest...

Newborn baby bunnies and feeding questions

Are they in a box or just a pile of hay and fur on the floor? I noticed with my bunny when she gave birth that when she would jump into the box to feed she would shuffle around a bit looking like she was stepping all over the babies but she was just finding a good spot to feed them. If they are...

What should I feed my new Rabbit?

I am from Australia too and I feed my rabbits 'Oxbow young rabbit food' they are alfalfa based and are the best pellets out there, I buy mine from the large pet store 'bestfriends' but I am sure you could contact oxbow and find a supplier in your area

    Runt or Peanut

Thank you all so much, not only is he tiny and adorable, he has the sweetest personality, out of the other 3 he is the one who enjoys cuddles the most and he is going to be a wonderful snuggly bun, I am not sure I have the heart to let him go, trying to convince my hubby to let him stay with us...

    Runt or Peanut

Just wanted to update you all on our little runt who is now 7 weeks old and doing great, he is still half the size of the others but developing just fine, all the others ears have lopped so just waiting for this little guy to do the same, I guess it's a size thing.

    kit missing a back foot!

Poor little guy, I think you are just going to have to wait and see how he develops, I do worry that if the other foot is compromised too that he may start to fall behind as his other siblings become more active. I don't like to be the one to bring it up but if he does survive, what are your...

    pregnant holland lop?

Ohhh dear lovelylops, from my understandinga kit can live with only one leg but this is assuming nothing else is wrong with it, does it look chewed, I assume it would be red and look raw if it was or is it a smooth nub like it never developed.

    pregnant holland lop?

Our runt was half the size of the other kits in a litter of 4 and I thought for sure he wouldn't make it but 3 weeks on and he is alive and healthy, still half the size of his siblings though, maybe there was something else wrong with this other kit and not just size. Hope this litter thrives...

    Peanut is home!

So cute, congrats on the new bunny. He is very young and in a new place so give him time with his litter training, once he has settled in you will notice he will start to choose a corner to do most of his wee, put the litter tray there with hay in it to encourage him to spend time in it, poo...

    Runt or Peanut

Thanks for the pictures, it was really hard in the early few days figuring out if he was a peanut or not as I was getting lots of mixed answers and I must admit sometimes because of how small he was, his eye's did bulge and his forehead too which made him look strange. We will be keeping him if...

    New babies (pics)

I have updated in another thread but thought I would update here too, all the kits are doing great and are now 13 days old, the runt is alive and healthy and all of them have opened their eyes except the runt who still has a bit of a squint but I can see them opening so that's good

    Runt or Peanut

That is a great tip Ladysown but I have no younger litter to put him in with and yes I do think you are right about him not making it in a bigger litter, there were days I didn't think he would last the night

    Runt or Peanut

Ok great and thanks for the info, I'll see how the runt goes once they are all running around and maybe instead of taking the others our early, I could just take the bigger ones out for a little bit every day and leave the runt to have mum to himself every day for a few hrs and hope he gets some...

    Runt or Peanut

So it's about time for an update, all the kits are doing great and starting to open their eyes, the runt is doing well, I have only had to help him feed twice from mum when he looked like he might have missed a feed but otherwise he is holding his own and doing great, I was thinking about taking...

Baby bunny turns out to be a boy maybe pregnancy

Sounds like you have a pregnant bunny I would be very surprised taking in their age and time they have spent together if she wasn't pregnant, figuring out how pregnant she is is more difficult but if you can feel a ball and she is lying on her side a lot I would say she would be getting toward...
