    Here we go again????

JBun - Thanks for reply - may have been an overreaction on my part. I gave her some benebac and within a few hours things were back to normal and it's been 3+ days. The water could have been from her tipping her waterer over due to the tilt? I panicked when she passed on the banana but now...

    Here we go again????

Last year I had a heck of a time nursing Willow through something that left her with permanent head tilt. She was happy & healthy and her new perspective on the world did not seem to slow her down any. I have kept her isolated from my other buns mostly because she has a difficult time eating and...

    Help with fleas

A few of my bunnies live in a nice and spacious bunny run that is attached to a storage room. A while back I noticed some invaders (rats!) in the run and moved the buns into a portable pen since we have been experiencing a very mild winter in So Cal. The thought was I would set some traps kill...

    Help please!

Sorry picked up this thread somewhere in the middle - glad to hear that Charlie is better!

    Help please!

You can get Vet referrals at Bunnybunch.com or bunnyluv.com. The best that I know of are in Glendale & Pasadena - don't know of any closer to you. I have had 3 bunnies go through similar situations that Charlie is experiencing and with the 1st 2 Baytril did the trick and within 2 weeks all was...

Any experience with irreversible head tilt?

I haven't had any bad experiences with the Baytril - both Ozzie and Rexy recovered 100% after only 2 weeks on that medication only. It's been 6-8 years since the others had their battles - this time it was very different. I will keep that in mind for future reference though.

Any experience with irreversible head tilt?

Millinex - ears were always perfect - nothing any one of us could see. My original trip to the vet was the local e vet with very limited rabbit experience. Since I had been down this road twice before with Ozzie & Rexy (100% recovered) I would probably have declined any cultures thinking that...

Any experience with irreversible head tilt?

Millinex - could be coincidental but it was only then when she was able to stabilize. We had a physical therapy day on Sunday with her outside in the yard and I am not sure who enjoyed it more. Couple of rolls here and there when she tried to run too fast but a very nice 45 minutes. Her head...

    Is this wrong?

I have 2 buns from the same litter and they are as different as night and day so just because the doe is a rock star doesn't mean her offspring will be. A lot of how a bunny ends up is determined by who and how he or she is raised. If she wants to have babies she can check with her local...

Any experience with irreversible head tilt?

Daisies - thanks for your reply to my post. Yes she was treated with multiple antibiotics for weeks, but it wasn't until we added the Panacur that she started to stabilize so I don't think it was an ear infection (no signs that we could see) but I suppose anything is possible. She is back to...

Any experience with irreversible head tilt?

So 5+ weeks into Willow's treatment for something that caused head tilt it appears that while she has recovered for the most part the head tilt may be permanent. She is adapting nicely - even tried to escape the shower today which did result in a couple of rolls but even that is something she...

    Continued battle with head tilt

Tony's human - she is off all of the antibiotics at this point and other than the tilted head and occasional roll or two she is thriving. My guess is that at 5 weeks in the tilted head is permanent which is fine as she seems to be adapting to her new situation. I had asked for a stronger...

    Continued battle with head tilt

Willow has made some progress with her battle but I now have a new concern. She finished her antibiotics 2 days ago and now is just taking the Panacur. Appetite is good and she grooms herself regularly but she is rolling more than ever. Mostly when she makes a big move like balancing on her...

    Multiple medications

Willow who continues to struggle has been prescribed multiple medications and now that she is feeling a little better is fighting me when it comes to med time. I can administer them successfully when I pick her up but that throws her balance off so I only pick her up when I have to. She is...

    Head tilt help

I know with this roller coaster I should not comment too soon but we seem to have a little progress to report. The vet said he would get back to me tomorrow regarding changing her to a stronger antibiotic and I will at the very least fill the prescription, but I am hesitant to change protocols...

    Head tilt help

Angie... I soak the greens and lightly sprinkle a little CC. Then pour a little water on top as well. I was soaking them because I don't see her drink much but may need to start giving her some water with a syringe.

    Head tilt help

Jenny, thanks for the reply. I had expressed my concern when he mentioned the name of the antibiotic he was prescribing and got "the look" so I backed off thinking he was the one with the medical degree. No metacam but I think I will place a call today and ask for it along with the panacur as...

    Head tilt help

My 3 year old lop Willow became ill a few weeks ago. Flat as a pancake in her litter box - she started the telltale bunny flip-spin-roll when I picked her up. Took her to my local e-vet since no one ever gets sick during business hours and was told it was heat related which I questioned but...

    Head Tilt

Not a new topic but I am at a loss. 2 weeks ago I found my little Willow flat as a pancake in her litter box. Rushed her to the E-Vet figuring it was head tilt but was told that it more likely due to heat. She was administered oxygen for hours and a car payment later was told it was an inner ear...
