So I got myrabbit neutered on March 9th so its been pretty much exactly 1 month. Well I also have a female rabbit. I know you're suppose to wait about a month right because she can still get pregnant? Well I let them hop around together last week he paid no attention to her and didn't try to...
I heard that they were pretty much "re-doing" them so they have been off the shelves for while. When will they be back? I'd really like to buy some papaya tablets but I have no idea what other ones to buy besides Oxbow.
My other rabbit eats the other pellets fine, the one that mud wouldn't touch. It's weird. I'll definitely switch them over to the same thing eventually.
Thought i'd update everyone. He's back to normal yay!
Ok so we called the vet Tuesday or Wednesday and made an appt for the following Monday regarding his teeth maybe to try xrays etc like you all had said but then he also said to try a different brand of pellets. So we did and he ate them ALL...
The vet did look at his teeth with the scope thing and said they were fine. I am assuming he knows what he is doing since I got him off the rabbit.org website. But i'll check into the dental issues when i call him to update.
Thank you everyone!
I thought i'd update everyone.
Mud started eating veges again last week. Still no pellets what so ever.
The vet didnt' seem too concerned with that though but it bugs me. We are now weaning him off the critical care since that has been his source of food for a few weeks. He eats hay and drinks...
The vet took a look at his teeth and said they were fine. When he was palpating he did feel a blockage.
Mud (his name :)) is still hanging in there. He doesn't look sick at all. He still darts around the room just won't eat anything except hay on his own. We are syringe feeding him some...
I thought i'd update. He completely stopped eating so we took him to the vet yesterday. He felt a blockage so he prescribed us some critical care along with pineapple and papaya slurry and lots of hay. So we'll see how it goes.
Thanks everyone and wish us luck!
I buy Purina rabbit chow. It looks like this.
It's been going on for 2-3 weeks now. Eats everything else fine. He darts around the room and isn't lethargic or anything. It really boggles my mind and bugs me. :expressionless
So i'm bringing this up again for some more opinions.
This is starting to get quite costly for me to buy so many veges. I really wanna get him to eat pellets again. Maybe make a slurry somehow. I don't know. Any thoughts?
He's eating absolutely no pellets. Which is weird since he is usually a big eater. The first thing I did was check his teeth. I'm not avet but he didn't have incredibly long teeth or chips or anything.
So who knows.
Thanks everyone.
For the past few days my bun has not touched his pellets at all. He eats his veggies and hay fine and normal. He hops around the room and doesn't seemto be in any pain or anything he just will not eat his pellets.
I did buy new ones over the weekend but they were the same kind he's been eating...
