    Owning rabbits and zoning laws

I really do think that a lot of people have it right when they say that the cities use the restrictions as a way to make money. I know in my city, if you have over your limit of animals, you are supposed to get a kennel license which they charge something around 100 dollars a year for I believe...

    Bonding update

Lol, Henri is definately a pretty chill rabbit. If I am worried about anything with him, it is that he is going to get sick of the energizer bunny one of these days and actually let him know it. It is pretty funny to see Henri sit on Acorn though. Acorn completely dissapears under all that fur!

    Bonding update

Haha, sometimes I think he does try to ignore Acorn. The little guy is definately the more high strung of the two, from what I've read, that seems pretty normal though. Occassionally I think he does get sick of all the jumping around because he will get up and sit on Acorn!

    Bonding update

I haven't updated you guys lately on how Acorn and Henri are doing. They have still been having meetings. I haven't been terriblyconsistent with them though. I was REALLY busy the weekend before Christmas and then there was Christmas of course so they didn't get to interact too much this week...

    Owning rabbits and zoning laws

I know!!! That is part of the reason I am thinking this is a really old law. When I was looking over the bilaws, a lot of them seem very outdated. I know this law isn't enforced though because I had a building inspector in my house for something earlier this year and he didn't say anything about...

    Owning rabbits and zoning laws

Around here, the laws vary by municipalilty. I actually hadn't looked up mine regarding rabbits until now. It says "no one shall raise or keep cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, pigeons or rabbits or other rodents, " so I guess I am actually not allowed any rabbits. That is really wierd though...

    He's getting cage agressive!

BlueGiants wrote: lol, I think my animals are in charge. He doesn't mind being held. Whenever I pick him up, he just likes to be held on my chest where he can push his head under my chin. I think he really freaks out whenever both of his feet are not touching something solid. I guess it...

    He's getting cage agressive!

BlueGiants wrote: He REALLY doesn't like it if I try to hold him on his back so I don't think that would work too well for me. I will try the treat thing. He really likes his craisins so maybe if I offer him one as a peace offering whenever I have to go into his area then he will forgive me...

    He's getting cage agressive!

I never thought about that food source thing, great article, thanks for the link. I think that would make sense especially since his previous owners only fed him junk pellets and no hay. Now he loves his hay and pretty much leaves the pellets alone. Whenever he sees me get to close to his hay...

    He's getting cage agressive!

Last night when I went to give Acorn more hay, he lunged at me and actually bit me! I know before he got mad when I swept out his area while he was in it but he has never lunged at me before. When he first came home, I sat in his enclosure every night and he never seemed mad about that. I have...

    Matt loves Acorn!

Ok, I know I haven't updated you guys on my boys in a while. Well after their first meeting, Henri and Acorn have not been out around eachother very much because Henri was acting kind of jealous of the little guy. Last night, I think I figured out why. I got home from work yesterday and Matt is...

    "bully" breeds

I completely agree that there are dogs with bad genes. But like you said, most of that is because of bad breeders. I wasn't trying to say that there aren't any vicious dogs, just like you said, the entire breed should not be condemned because of the actions of some. I know that there are some...

    "bully" breeds

This weekend when I was with my family, my grandfather made a comment that all pit bulls need to be put to sleep. I absolutely cannot stand when people try to demonize an entire breed of animal! Apparently someone he knows got bitten recently by one so I can kind of understand why he made the...
