Now for 3 months there is an unresolved wet eye issue.
We spent over $1000+ at Vet so far, without success.
This entailed separate "examination fees" over 3 visits with topical anaesthetic, a flush (neg), antibiotic drops (no effect) , steroid drops(temporary effect), parasite tests on stool (neg). Vet felt it could be allergies or dust causing it but parasites then had to be ruled out with stool exam.
The "teeth looked fine" but after 3 visits, it was "we didn't really get to see the teeth" (!!?). so the treatment would be different for properly checking this. X-ray, full anaesthetic & possible dentals, plus exam fee again since its been 3 weeks now and another $1000+.
The eye is not appearing red so we are catching it early, but still very wet 🙁. The fluid is clearish but sticky when it dries.
We have 4 other pets and 2 with geriatric issues at (cat)16 & (dog) 17 so the expenses are getting ridiculous. Any one experienced this with any successful outcome? Thanks everyone!

Our bunny Dutchess has runny eyes and we have been down the same diagnostic and treatment roads without change. At this point, am going to just clean off her fur and let it go.

Im surprised they dont do a culture of the eye fluid BEFORE prescribing all the antiobiotics and steroid drops which end up being ineffective. $$$ maybe?
