Rectal Prolapse??

Hi, I have a one month old Holland Lop that has a problem.

What does this look like? Does it look like a rectal prolapse? Is there anything I can do to help him?

This has been a bad litter. Something happened where the mom stopped feeding them or her milk dried up, so I have been feeding him with kitten milk. About a week ago he had poop stuck on his bottom so we cleaned it off with warm water. Originally I thought that's what had caused this, but it looks like it's only getting worse.

This response in All Experts is an extremely reliable source. Randy Atkinson is a former mod on RO and a wildlife rehabber specializing in cottontails. I assume that this prolapse (doesn't look extreme) is caused by improper diet. Kitten milk alone is not recommended for kits. It is surprising that he has made it this far.

He had his mom's milk until he was about two or three weeks old and that's when something happened so I started giving him kitten milk. So should I be mixing the kitten milk with the other stuff?

He gets hay, pellets, and water as well. And his poop is normal

I am so happy and thankful I found this, one of my 5 week old kits has something similar to this, and I wasn't sure what to do! Hopefully all goes well! How is the little guy doing now?
