Hi everyone I hope you and your bunnies are all safe! Unusual question but I found a foul smell coming from my house rabbit Jasper over last 2 days. Checked his bottom all ok no poo stuck. Then wondered if the hay could be the reason which is different to my usual one. Can some hay not absorb urine etc as well? I will try get my normal one which is softer than this one. Any thoughts appreciated

Is it a smell from the rabbit itself or it’s enclosure. If the rabbit smells, I recommend taking it to the vet as it could have an infection of sorts. If it’s the enclosure, I would try using a different type of litter, changing any cardboard toys and hoovering/sweeping more often

Hay doesn't absorb well anyway, that's why most put wood stove pellets or another absorbent under the top layer of hay.
