I am so excited to say that i finally made pikachu a NIC style cage, well almost done.
I still need the floors with pretty tiles.

The cage is 4 cubes long,2 cubes length and 3 cubes height
and has one 4 cubes floor, and on the top has 2 cubes floor.

Pikachu has not moved in yet, since its not complete.

Its pretty empty, and i have no idea what to put in there :/
I have plenty wood chew toys, but what else should i put in her new house, besides litter, food, bed?

As for the flooring, any ideas what kind of wood should i use? I need something strong, long lasting. Plywood to me seems to bendy.

It really depends on the thickness of the plywood.

I used 3/4" which is pretty thin and it holds great. You dont want anything too thick because then it will be too heavy for the cubes. You dont want to get OSB Sheathing (compressed wood) because I read it wasnt safe for buns to chew and you'll have a really hard time getting the vinyl tiles to stick.

I covered them with bright and pretty color rugs.

You can also get some of these and just start hanging them all pretty like. I have them.. but i've been lazy..

lots of fun stuff you can put in...

they like hammocks, apparently - I got a big ferret one today that mine rushed to play in:

I have something similar to http://www.petco.com/product/112369/Macs-Rainbow-Chew-Toy.aspx that I got from petsmart, except it's only got three wood chews on it. my bunnies love to push it around and make the bell ring.

is a huge hit with my bunnies... they got the walnuts out of the middle in less than a day this time, lol (they still have a ways to go on chewing through the whole ball, they just chewed all the way through in one spot)

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3155603 or http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3155599 depending on your bunny's size (petco has 'em too)

maybe a chew log or igloo or some other hidey-house (or even a cardboard box one since bunns don't mind if you're being cheap, hehe)

oOo i need the tunnels, i was thinking of a making a hammock, but pikachu is quit big lol, i have plenty of wood chew since i also own a chinchilla.

thank you, i really want a tunnel now.

I'm cranky, the 8 inch diameter tunnel is on backorder :( they shipped my order without it and it'll get sent later, the jerks (will still ship for free by itself, though, since it was part of a bigger order). I really hope it gets here before they finish outgrowing the smaller one.

My rabbits cages are fairly basic. I have a food and water dish in each cage. There is a 16qt plastic storage box for each. Beauty uses it as a litter box. Shiny Things has not figures out what it is for yet. They also have hay that hangs in the cage. Shiny Things has a shelf in her cage. Beauty has a tube that she does not use. Shiny things also had a toilet paper role . Shiny Things likes to shred paper towels. Once they are bonded and have more room they will have more toys.

The flooring on the levels doesn't need to be too strong since you already have the NIC grids there. I used to just put a piece of carpet on the upper levels. Carpet is, of course, super bendy, but it does just fine on the grids. It can't bend while laying flat on the grid. So even wood as thin as paneling will be more than sufficient.

For the base floor, unless you intend to move the cage, it doesn't need to be thick either since it is on the floor. I used a sheet of linoleum.

Be careful about the hammocks. Another member cautioned about potential problems with bunny getting stuck in there.
