Make up a check, of your usual mortgage payment and rip it in half, and frame it under

That is awesome, and you are very young to have done that! I paid cash for my house, in 2001, but that was only $54,000, and I was 33 at the time, and had rented cheap apartments over the years, with moderate paying jobs, so it wasn't a big deal for me. I bought this house with the full intention of staying in it until I die. I saw an opportunity and took it.
