Hi folks,

The weather is getting warmer. Is there a temperature at which one should start using the A/C to keep my bun cooler? Is 85F too hot?

Thanks again for the wonderful advice,

Will

My bunnies like to hang around the air vents when I have the A/C on. Can't blame them either since we're having another heat wave in Toronto.

Humidity is a major factor in how effectively the rabbit can cool itself. Rabbit Production states that the ideal environment is 50 degrees F with 50% humidity.

Certainly, at 85 degrees, I would turn on the air.

If a rabbit is breathing hard and getting wet around the mouth, the moisture is not evaporating quickly enough to properly cool the rabbit, and fans should be turned on to move the air and aid in evaporation.
