I've been looking for some stats and have been highly UNsuccessful. I was hoping someone out there would be able to steer me in the right direction.

What I'm looking for is information on the types of animals seen by veterinarians (in Canada mostly but the US would work as well). I'm specifically interested in stats on exotics, avians and rabbits. Wildlife would be good if it's out there as well, but that's an after thought. I've triedStatistics Canada and found nothing there. Then I tried finding it on google to no avail.

Any tips? :)

You might need to look at the individual vet clinics. Most have websites that tell you what they treat, but it can get vague to a point. They might say they treat rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, amphibians and other exotic pets. They probably won't list every species as it could go on for a while, but they would probably tell you if they treat a certain species that you have.

You can try these sites to see if they will help

or call and ask, i know a vet who specializes in exotics but they dont advertise it or talk about it much. but big cats, foxes, racoons kinda stuff he sees

You also need to find out which of those species, like big cats and raccoons and such, are legal to even have as pets, let alone be treated by a vet clinic. I do remember hearing somewhere that if you have a certain number of exotic pets you can get a license to keep even the even more exotic kinds of pets, but im not sure. Wildlife Im pretty sure is illegal to keep anywhere in Canada unless you're a zoo or rehab center. I know you probably know this but for anyone else here who may not know, just a info tidbit :)

Since you are in Ontario try the College of Veterinariansof Ontario (CVO) in Guelph...they are the regulatory body for vets in Ontario...if they can't supply the info they may be able to point you in the right direction!

I should clarify. I'm not looking for a vet. I'm looking for numbers. I don't need to know what animals are going to vets I need to know how many of each species per year.

I will look at contacting the CVO.

Thanks everybody. :)
