I'm getting so confused about my rabbit behaviour (it's bucks 8 months old) got neutered about 4 weeks ago...

He did pee outside of his litter box a few times before getting neutered so I got him fixed. However it become a nightmare and I really regret it couse after the surgery his behaviour got way worse... he peed everywhere and way more often then he used to, it's too frustating 🥲 he's a free roamed rabbit but my mom got really angry because of all the mess and decided to punish him in a cage for a few day because it's just so tormenting for us to wipe his pee every short amount of time.

Does anybody know what's wrong with him? Please help

It can take up to 8 weeks for those hormones to complletely fade after being neutered, so that could have something to do with him wanting to urine mark(him still being hormonal), or there could be something else going on.

Does he only pee in his litter box when he is kept in his cage, with no pee accidents outside the litter box, or is he peeing outside the litter box when kept in there as well? When he has his pee accidents, is he peeing in one big puddle, or are you finding him dribbling drops of urine everywhere? Does he consistently have a urine soaked bum at all? Is he showing any other abnormal changes of behavior that you've noticed? What color and consistency is the urine in the puddles? Any tan or beige urine? Is the consistency of the urine normal and watery, or does it seem thick and creamy, gel like, pasty, or gritty at all? Any signs of blood in the urine, with spots of red in the urine puddle, very red urine color or pinkish frothy urine?

For now, until you get this sorted out and he starts consistently using his litter box to pee in, it's actually best to not let a rabbit free roam. Though if his cage is small, especially if it's any smaller than 2 ft by 4 ft, it would be good to have some sort of expandable metal pet exercise pen, so you can start expanding his space gradually as his litter box habits improve.

When getting a rabbit used to free roaming, to prevent them from starting to urine mark outside of their own litter box and cage, it's best to only gradually increase the roaming space as they show they can maintain good litter habits and pee in their litter box consistently.

So that's what I would suggest, is keep him in his cage with an expandable exercise pen to increase his area, and to gradually give him more space as his litter habits get better. If he doesn't improve once he is in his own cage and penned area, then there could be a health issue going on, or some other methods may need to be tried.

So he always pee outsite his litte... the surgery. And i'm totally clueless here 🥲

I have a boy and a girl. Both snipped. Millie was toilet trained by 4 months and never makes a mistake she is super clean and tidy. Peanut, her younger brother will be a year old in July and does loo hiding spots. He got neutered at 4 months old and he’s more interested in playing and running about. He loves poo and wee. He likes to sit in dirty litter trays and poo in the corners of wherever he is asap, particularly whenever we clean up.
His wee smelt really bad pre neuter but it’s better now.
My friend has 7, in 3 different adjoining sheds. She has told me that her boys are the same as mine. Peeing in corners to mark territory. I have found coldish water with a tiny bit of washing up liquid immediately works best to clean away urine.
If you are unsure at all i would take your rabbit to the vet. It’s £20 for a 5 minute check at our vets but medicines etc cost extra.
