fur abnormalities

Hello fellow bunny folk,

i have a question about fur abnormalities/abnormal growth.

my bunny is an angora 1yr+
his fur does not seem to be growing back in those patches but is growing at a normal pace on the rest of his body.
the last picture is what the rest of his fur looks like.

essentially i’m asking if i should be concerned.

also he doesn’t excessively groom that one spot either, which i originally thought was the cause.

That, to me, looks like a bunch of new, dense, thick and short fur that has grown in place of the old one. This type of fur just needs more time to grow until it eventually matches the rest of the fur.
For me, it was just a fun thing to keep track of how the new fur comes in and sprouts in height.
If you don't see any redness or excessive skin flakes around, i wouldn't worry.

I thought that i had a loot of rabbit pictures in my gallery, but i had to dig hard to find any suitable reference.

Pictured is my french lop Storm in two varieties- alone with a dark moult line M on his face.

And with his lady. Note the light grey patch among all the dark grey near his bum- that was one of his bald patches that grew new and dense dark fur like in the pictures shown by Cosmo the bunny. He got those all over him with never a problem.

ok thank you, yes i agree it looks and feels more like outter layer fur.
