I recently started free roaming my bunny.
he just lost his brother 2 weeks ago, who he wasnt fully bonded with so now i am able to free roam the bun like originally planned in hopes he can bond with me. (ps. he seems fairly content at his brother not coming home from the vets, no signs of depression or lonelyness, but im keeping an eye on him!) however since freedom my bunny has choosen a new place to pee, but hes choosen a low table, thats not got enough room for a litter box. just barely fits my keyboard for a floor desk kind of height.
its been two days since he first used it as a toilet, he goes fine in his litter box when hes locked in when im away for work, but second i let him out, all he wants to do is poop and pee on the table. ive tried blocking his way up and he just thumps and tries to get up anyway, making me worried hes gonna hurt himself (he stopped eating for a sprain last december so defo want to avoid even the minorist of things!) hes ignoring his litter tray completey, despite the fact its 100% easier to get to and where hes use to it being, its not moved.
if there anything i can do?
ive used bunny safe cleaning products to clean it every time hes managed to go and made sure theres no scents around the area to tell him its a toilet or something he needs to claim as his territory,
no food, water or hay.
is it usual for a bunny to choose a second toilet during free roam even if the rooms not that big?
do i just need to put puppy mats down? and accept my fate?
advice pleaseeee ;w;
ps. yes he is neutered. he is a year and 5 months old but has had zero accidents since being litter trained. so find it hard to believe 2 times in 2 days, in the same place with poops too.
