I'd like to thank everyone who replied to my post regarding FELIX last week.
Whilst we are still mourning him, and my initial thoughts were to neverhave a rabbit again, I find that I gave him so much love that it'sspilling over into nothingness now, and it needs somewhere togo. Consequently, I have been in touch with a breeder ofNetherland Dwarfs and am going to call him today for a chat ... he hasbabies available already, but am not making a decision until I'vechatted with him.
The funny thing is ... I never really liked rabbits! When wemarried and had children, once Hollie had reached school age, I becamereally broody, and not wanting anymore children, I decided on a guineapig (having held my friends and been charmed by it's quirky littlenoises) ... Clover came to become part of our family as muchas Felix had been .. but sadly she died and skipped off to RainbowBridge to wait for me there.
My daughter wanted a rabbit .. and we decided on the Netherland Dwarf, mainly because they looked cute, and because they were small.
*chuckle* ... Felix came into our lives back in 2003 - having been bornon 4th April, he was our "Easter Bunny". I thoughtmy heart would break out of my chest whenever I looked at him, such wasthe love I felt and the joy and pleasure he gave me.
I'll never, ever forget Felix. He was my/our first rabbit, but it would be a shame to not give all this love I still have leftinside me, to another little bunny. One who would play, asFelix did, get into mischief, as Felix did, and one who would bring thesmils back to our home ... watched, from Rainbow Bridge, by a littlerabbit called Felix, who stole all our hearts!
I'm writing this as a memorial to Felix and to put down in black andwhite that he will always hold that special place in my heart.
