I'm also in the block and bridle club and as soon as the heifers get here, we will be halter breaking them. It's certainly not something I've ever done before, but I'm excited to learn how.

It's easier if they're just weaned but it's really not too bad. What I'd do is that they'd always have their halter on and when they came to feed I'd clip them to a post. Soon after they'd figure out they were tied, they'd fight it and then they'd figure out they couldn't get loose. Soon they wouldn't even try the line they'd just stand until somebody let them go. Once they figure that out they pretty much follow you everywhere anyhow.
