How often do you let your rabbit outside?

As long as it's above 55 degrees out and not raining I take her outside for some fresh air.

What to do with a bunny that won't touch hay?

She could honestly care less about it, she digs in it and then uses it as a potty. She has an alfalfa orchard grass mix. I have also tried getting the kind with the special flowers to entice her and it's not working. I even cut down on her fresh foods and stopped letting her nibble on the...

    Ideas to curb this behavior?

Blossom (unknown breed and about 16 weeks old) has recently moved in (about 4 weeks ago). She's a great and well behaved bunny, but recently she's taken to trying to chew on our pant legs and shoes while we're wearing them. She is out of the cage for about 6-10 hours a day depending and she is...

Is this okay for my bunny?

We recently bought a juicer and there is a waste compartment, we're only juicing organic veggies and nothing that the rabbit can't eat anyways. Would it be okay to feed the waste to the rabbit? It's very dry and not wet hardly at all.

    Clipping a baby bunny's nails?

8 1/2 weeks old and they have some vicious nails. Can I clip them? How do I do that?

What breed are Dottie and Blossom?

8 1/2 weeks old. Mother was a Lop and father is unknown. Just wondering if they are mixed breed or if they could possibly be pure bred Lops. Sorry they're not the best pics, but they were hoppy little buggers.

Could he be home sick or heart broken? (RIP)

I have taken in an elderly neighbor's Lop eared rabbit. He is about 6 years old and was over weight when I got him. The neighbor went into a nursing home and his care giver asked if I could take the rabbit. I put him on a normal pellet with occasional fresh produce treats. I did have to cage...

5 week old babies and food

Belldandy is pushing food at her babies. They're 5 weeks old today, today I gave her a banana and she hopped over to her babies and pushed them towards it. Then when they started eating it she hopped away from it (almost glad to have a break from them LOL). I took it away from them and took it...

    Changing the nesting box?

Bunnies are 2 weeks old today, they're pushing the hay out of the cat carrier, could I move them to a bigger box? The bigger box wouldn't have a top on it like the cat carrier. Since they're outside would that matter much (they're in a coop so not in the weather).

What do you call this color or pattern?

This is one of the 9 day old babies (4 babies in all), mom is a mini lop dad is unknown breed. One shares mama's markings, one is all gray and one is all black/very very dark brown, this one I'm not sure what to call it. Gray on top, cream colored on bottom, inner ears are cream colored, small...

    Bunnies found out of box?

So bunnies are 5 days old. Today I found one bunny out of the box and behind the freezer (mama could not reach it so I'm pretty sure she didn't put it back there). Went out to check on them tonight and two different bunnies were out of the nesting box. I'm using a cat carrier, it's big enough...

My rabbit had babies and I have a few questions

She had four beautiful babies between noon and 2pm today. I just checked on her at 6pm and her bum area was still a bit bloody, should I clean that for her or should I just let her do it herself? I checked the babies and they have round bellies, are warm and very active, how often should I...

I've read tons of stuff that say pregnant rabbits are mean

Is this always true? My rabbit was mean before and she has become totally nice. I thought that maybe she was just playing with the hay making play nests, so I messed up the nest she had on day 26, instead of getting mad she cuddled up to me. So today I go out and check the nesting box...

Do rabbits make nests when they are not expecting?

My rabbit has cat carrier that I let her use as her get away spot from the chickens. I went to clean it out today and I found a "nest" inside of it, she hasn't pulled any fur or anything it's just hay. Here is a pic of what I found when I opened it up. IMAG0684 by StonesChickens, on Flickr

what would happen if you broke up a bonded pair?

First how do I know they are bonded? Their current setup is one in the cage (medium large size) for 24 hours and one out to run around the coop. Then we switch them, often times they are laying side by side with the cage between them. Next question is what would happen if I did rehome...

Ways to keep a caged bunny active

I have one pet and one found pet, both are not fixed (male/female). Right now I am switching them from the coop to the cage every other day. Example: yesterday Belldandy had free run of the coop and outdoor run and Charlie was in the cage. Today Charlie is out and about and Belldandy is in the...

    is this normal?

For a female to hump a male. She is two and a half years old he is a year old. I had her first and he has mounted her several times.

If it appears that my rabbit is making a nest in her litter box

Belldandy refuses to use the nesting box I made for her and instead is digging and rearranging her litter box. She was doing it this morning and I cleaned out again since she is using it to go to the bathroom in. I'm just afraid she'll have them in the litter box and they'll die. She's also...
