Question about labor process for experienced breeders

I'll be curious to know what others have to say on this, I'm in the same predicament. Today is day 32 for my doe as well, she's pulled a little fur and yesterday I saw some blood in the cage, but no kits? She also doesn't seem to be in trouble, acting fine, no straining, eating and drinking well.

    orphaned at 4 weeks...

Just a quick update to let you know that they are all doing wonderfully. Eating solids exclusively now and no diarrhea. Thank for all the advice!

    orphaned at 4 weeks...

Thanks everyone. This morning they all looked great, full bellies and hydrated. The water bottle was down and so were the pellets so I know they're eating. I gave them a little bit of dandelion greens since they had been nibbling on them earlier. Will keep you posted!

    orphaned at 4 weeks...

They are definately orphaned, their mom is buried in our backyard. No emergency vets in the area, no vets within an hours drive period, and as I said the stores are closed for the night. I read on the House Rabbit Society's site that you can give them dry bread soaked in KMR with some...

    orphaned at 4 weeks...

I have a litter of 10 flemish giants that were orphaned today:( I read the article above about feeding orphans and the only ingredients I can get quickly would be the KMR and heavy cream. They are 4 weeks old and have been nibbling on the pellets and even the dandelions I was giving their...

    Peanut or Runt?

Here's a side profile, their eyes are starting to open! His belly has been nice and full so if he is a runt I'm sure he'll make it.

    Peanut or Runt?

I will try to get some different shots tomorrow, and I'll keep you updated on what happens, keeping my fingers crossed he's just a runt and makes it:)

    Peanut or Runt?

Ok, so I just found this photo of a typical peanut, and now I'm thinking he's just a runt? I've never come across this before so I'm not sure. http://www.welshrabbitry.com/images/peanut.jpg Mine seems pretty proportianal, I'll try to get a side photo and post it if it helps. Also, his legs...

    Peanut or Runt?

What do you think? This litter is one week old today. My son is already attached to the little thing so I'm wondering if it has a chance, it seems to be fine so far.

    suddenly very mean?

They haven't gotten run time lately... since I can't pick them up to get them out of their cages w/o getting bitten! But thanks again for all the advice. I decided to wait a little and see and just approach them gradually more each day, one on one like you said. The wierd thing is that if my...

    suddenly very mean?

As I said in my first post, I already have them seperated in their own cages. And I have looked at the vet listings. I literally live in the middle of nowhere and the closest rabbit vet is several hours away. :(

    suddenly very mean?

Does this behaivior sometimes go away on it's own? We don't have any rabbit savvy vets around here so spaying isn't really an option at this moment. Is there a way to calm them otherwise? Or just wait and see? I guess by mentioning that they're sisters, I was wondering if sometimes the...

    Arthritis? Tumors? What's going on?

Thank you so much for your advice and comfort, it means alot. I really really miss them and cried when my 3rd bunny (Mr. T)died, he was my favorite, and my brother in law even misses him and my 2 year old misses him too... he wanted to hold him and I told him that his bunny was gone, so he asked...

    suddenly very mean?

I have two New Zealand does who are sisters and about 6 months old. Up untill a month ago they were both in the same cage and got along fine with each other and myself. Now they are in seperate hutches and the only difference I can think of is their old hutch opened from the top and their new...

    Arthritis? Tumors? What's going on?

UPDATE My doe died as well, and one of my other bunnies mysteriously died as well, he stopped eating and drinking but no abcesses or loss of motion. The reason I was given was old age. I wish I lived somewhere with more vets around:( I just hope it doesn't spread any further. So far...

    Arthritis? Tumors? What's going on?

Yup, they're the brown mineral blocks. They do have outside time too, so I'll do some more research on the bot fly thing. Only, wouldn't the abcesses go away after a while if it were bot flies?

    Arthritis? Tumors? What's going on?

Thanks so much for the links, the closest vet I can find is Green Bay or Wittenburg, both about 2 hours south of us. The only thing I can think of after reading the articles is maybe cancer? But it's weird to show up in both bunnies isn't it? They aren't realated as far as I know, and I don't...
