    Genes and blue eyes?

Okay, I knew about BEW buns which I assumed are some type of leucism? And I've been seeing a lot of "VM" buns recently with blue eyes but some don't have blue eyes and some with blue eyes also have other coat colors like black otter, etc. So what is VM, anyway? I couldn't find a definition and I...

Elemental Exotics ~ The goings on at the Zoo.

Didi has been adopted! Haven't yet received a replacement for her. Opal and Flash are currently at the store and Bodie is here with me for the first time. His picture didn't do him justice, he's a lot bigger than I thought and is going to be a bigger boy. He's only 4-5 months old now.

Looking for simple cheap exercise toys

I like the stick on bowls and my favorite ones just went on sale at Amazon, the 6 ounce one I use for pellets and the 20 ounce one for water. Noticed they were on sale, so just stocked up on them myself.

Best guess bonding dynamics in this situation?

Yeah, I have several good places for face to face introductions that are neutral ground, my pair has never been in. When I bonded these two, it went very easy. Though both were known to be good choices for bonding, the male especially, he wanted a buddy badly. I got the male first but received...

Looking for simple cheap exercise toys

Cardboard rolls are good toys, yes. You can also stuff them with hay as well.

Best guess bonding dynamics in this situation?

Okay, I'm going to start by saying I've read a ton on various outlines for bonding and feel I have a decent grasp of how to do it. I've gotten opposing advice from articles on this particular type of pairing, so wanted advice for the so far known personalities of my actual current buns. I have...

Elemental Exotics ~ The goings on at the Zoo.

Was nice, a local friend of the rescuer that caught Ellie saw her and is interested in her. She came over just a bit ago and it was mutual love at first sight! So, because the lady is known to the rescue and Ellie hasn't been officially processed by the rescue, she's not actually being adopted...

    Dumb question probably. Mini Rex/Netherland

    Thank you, that makes sense.

    Dumb question probably. Mini Rex/Netherland

Not sure this is the right place to ask but it probably involves breed standards...so. I know that Mini Rexes were created by breeding standard rexes to Netherland dwarfs but the ideal seems to be to keep the original Rex appearance, just in a smaller package? I've seen some Mini's that seem to...

Where can i advertise my bunnies for sale with no ad fee?

MeWe is where a lot of animal breeders have gone since FB cracked down. There are a number of sales groups for rabbits only or all times of animals on there. I recently joined several to post my fosters. The format is somewhat similar to FB but no rules against animal sales.

Elemental Exotics ~ The goings on at the Zoo.

Finally got some slightly better pics of Flash yesterday. He is so cute, he has the most adorable little mohawk. Currently have Opal and Flash with me, along with Eleanor. Took Didi in to Petsmart and one of the rescue managers came through on their way through and left Bodie, a black and white...

Weird tiny flies in rabbit housing area?

They are larva from bot flies, they target small mammals to lay their eggs in as hosts. A species in South America will target humans as well, shudder.

Weird tiny flies in rabbit housing area?

Bot flies are horrible! But after a quick Google search it looks like Estonia doesn't have them? Though I could be wrong.

Elemental Exotics ~ The goings on at the Zoo.

The local rescuer that catches lost and released domestic rabbits contacted me this evening needing a place to stay for this girl that she caught today, so here is my newest unexpected foster! Was a good thing I had an extra pen and a bathroom no one uses, lol. Thinking female for now but she'll...

Weird tiny flies in rabbit housing area?

I'm not sure what would be likely in your area but my first two guesses would be a species of fruit fly or phorid fly. Could try looking those up and seeing if it looks similar?

Elemental Exotics ~ The goings on at the Zoo.

Someone close to the main rescue was interested in Nellie a few days ago (and did adopt her, yay!) so I met up half way with someone from the rescue to switch out buns and now have Didi here. I'd actually been having to tell myself I really didn't need a third rabbit, because Nellie was so...

Elemental Exotics ~ The goings on at the Zoo.

Decided I should start a blog here and keep everything in one place. Background: Decided this year to get a rabbit, originally planning on a baby from a breeder friend early next year. But decided to check out the semi local rabbit rescue said friend also recommended and they have a great foster...

    Three new fosters.

Yay! Just heard back and sweet Nellie was officially adopted! I'll get my other foster to replace her tomorrow. I'm not sure which they will pick, it'll be one of three boys they are considering and they all look like they will be fun. So it'll be a nice surprise to see who I'm getting tomorrow.

    Three new fosters.

Eventful day today! Someone expressed an interest in Nellie, but they are closer to the actual rescue than here, so met up halfway with someone from the rescue and switched off buns. So here is my newest foster Didi! I love her white marked ear. Fingers crossed for Nellie, I was actually...

What are your die-hard rabbit products?

Yeah, like Butterscotch said. I only put a thin layer down, roughly one layer of pellets deep, with a bit more at the corners, as they tend to pee in the corner and the rest of the space is for their hay. You'll want hay available in the litter box to help them use it, it's gross but they like...
