    Our big adventure

Thank you! She ate a bit of romaine lettuce last night, she's been having very soft splatty poops, I think one of the antibiotics is compounded in an oil suspension . We have her dental booked at the university on April 20th so fingers crossed!

    Our big adventure

6.5 years ago (will be 7 in August) I found this forum and begged you all for help. I work as a RVT and a client had a basket of 1 day old buns that were orphaned. With help from you all here, I attempted to hand raise them, and one of them made it! Also special shout out to JBuns for pretty...

    Lost both bunnies today

No I didn't do a post mortem for a couple of reasons. Generally they're sent to the university for that and it was a Sunday which meant no courier and we would have to freeze them. Freezing them can destroy the tissues and depending on the cause of death make it harder/impossible to verify. Also...

    Nervous about Neutering! Need advice

There was nothing wrong with the handling, the anesthetic or the drugs, I was there the entire time. I did the calculations myself, set up the machine myself and tested it, double and triple checked everything and had another RVT triple check every thing after both the vet and I did. I've done...

    Nervous about Neutering! Need advice

I brought my bunnies to be neutered yesterday and both of them died under anesthetic. I've had two does spayed and they did fine. My bucks didn't even have the surgery they were just under anesthetic. They must have had something genetically wrong with them. Make sure you take them to a vet that...

    Lost both bunnies today

Both my bunnies died under anesthetic today. All the blood sweat and tears hand raising them and then go out like that.

An update on my orphan babies

Here's another update, Erin is not a doe, she's a buck haahaa sexed that one wrong

    Crows got close to bunnies!

I think they wanted the rabbit pellets more than the rabbits if you had their food out there. They will eat a dead rabbit but not kill one. We are the crow capital of Canada they blacken the sky here

    Taking rabbits out in public

I take two of mine outside, the other two get too scared and don't enjoy it. The harness is the scariest part. Also maybe don't take your bunny outside for the first time when the neighbors are mowing the lawn haahaa. At the park call out to the 20 kids to approach at a walk (because 20 kids...

A bad vet experience left my bun & girl concerned. . .

I didn't even read JBuns reply yet but that's unacceptable do not let them do surgery on your bunny because they do not know what they're doing. I work at the vets and even non rabbit savvy vets would not do that. That's actually pretty crazy. Please go somewhere else, if they treated your bunny...

An update on my orphan babies

Thank you especially to JBun, these guys would not have survived without your help and support. If you remember the one bunny was small and skeletal but with a big fat tummy and tiny poos and I used baycox and then panacur. She was half the size (smaller than that even, maybe 1/4 size) of her...

    Multiple issues

Thank you for all the advice, I will probably just do the 5 days and then redose in 14 or so. Clinically the bunny (we call her Erin, but it may be a boy haahaaa) is doing a lot better. It's started growing, it's natty fur is shedding out to smooth fur, it's eating hay and pellets well and...

    Multiple issues

Better news, panacur for the win we've done 4 fecals, floats and direct smears, I've sent to idexx laboratories and well as looked myself and nothing. Done the baycox, critical care, metacam and the poos got small again, critical care and first dose of panacur and it's running around and playing...

IM REALLY WORRIED FOR MY BUNNY

Those look like rubs/scrapes, could she have caught or rubber herself on anything? Maybe getting in and out of a cage?

    Which pellets should I buy for my rabbit ( 1 y.o )

I'm not sure, I feed the oxbow ones and my bunnies really like those. If you do switch make sure to mix the food gradually.

    Size difference

How long did it take for you to see a difference Jbun? I used baycox instead of the sulfa drugs, I didn't want to have to wait for them to be compounded and I don't like the idea of adding to water. The baycox dose was tiny because the rabbit is only 300 grams. I did not use the 25mg/kg dose...

    Outside Free-Roaming Rabbits

There's a black bunny and a white bunny loose in my town. They must have been let go but they've survived winter in Canada so props to them Lol. They're always in the same area so I assume that person must feed them to keep them around. We have fox, coyote and lots of hawks and owls, plus dogs...

    My bunny is not okay

Could she have fleas that are biting her down on the floor?

    Size difference

Same litter, the small ones eyes actually opened 3 days before the other one. At one point they were the same size. Now Curly is a big chonk!
