I've been away for a while. Popeye is doing well. I took him for a checkup with the heart specialist. They said that his heart function has improved slightly, probably due to the medications. There really isn't any chance of any meaningful improvement with this kind of heart condition...

It amazing that some times the simple things they enjoy most. My buns have had fun with paper bags (NOT PLASTIC!!), grass mats, paper towel rolls, boxes, wicker baskets or wicker balls, and sometimes the carpet, but I do my best to discourage that last one.

You should never use the same litter for your rabbit that you use for cat. Cat litter can be very dangerous to rabbits. Rabbits are very different from cats and VERY different needs than cats. Also, it seems that you are going to have a free range bun, have you bunny proofed any area...

I give my rabbits a bit of a wheat thin as a treat. Before I give them a treat, I shake the box to let them know that they are getting a treat. If they are running around the house and its time to go back in the cage, I shake the box to get their attention then walk towards their cage room...
