I wanna see everyone Flemmies....since Nelson's death I have been super bummed and reluctant to hang out here at RO but since bringing home our new baby "Brian" I am back in the mood! I feel like seeing LOTS of big ears and being back in the know of who has Flemmies! Here are my boys....

Nelson...at the bridge at only 5 months old. He was 11 lbs. at his death, I am sad I never got to see what a big boy he would make.

I just took this photo of Smithy....he got put in a new cage with a shelf in it (I didn't think he'd get up on the shelf...I will need to make it more sturdy).

He's from my last litter of babies...and I call this photo "Got Ears"? (I had asked him what he was doing up on the shelf..).

Hed handsome.....is he Steel?
Yep - he's steel. I currently have black flemmies, steel flemmies, a white flemmie and several light grey flemish giants.

I have decided to stop breeding but I imagine that I will always have a flemish giant in my life.

Baby flemmies are cute too - here is Duke - I hand raised him from about 9 days old..

Can Dukey come out of the nestcage to play?

Dukey is THIRSTY mama....where's my milk?

Those are precious! I still have a pic of Nelson the breeder sent when he was just 2 weeks old....so sweet.

"Dukey" is now a little over a year old (he turned 1 year on July 31st) and weighs probably 15 pounds or more....I'm sitting here watching him get playtime on the rabbitry floor. Sure is hard to believe he was that little that he'd lay in my hand and drink from a bottle...

It is crazy how they grow....I remember when I brought Nelson home at 8 weeks....he was 5lbs then...at his death he was 5 months old and 11lbs....he still seemed like a little baby to me tho! Everyone said, "Oh he's grown" but I just didn't see it.....Brian is 12 weeks old....he's 7lbs..I don't remember if this was bigger or smaller than Nelson at that age....I am anxious to see what kind of bun he makes.

Here is my pancake......uh....flemmie doe.....Harmony.

She does this whenever I open the cage and will lay this way for 30 minutes (and longer) if I'll pet her that long.

In flemish giants they're called "light gray" - and yes you can. I used to breed them.

A few more of my favorite flemmie photos from here...
