As promised, we've set up WabbitCam now that the kits are back:

This is a still-image version of it, mostly due to the fact that our uplink is rather limited in bandwidth. To get a fresh image, just reload the page.

The large white blob in there is Ma, the foster mother from Wayne Bechdel. She has done a great job with them so far, and in addition is a magnificent Californian herself.

Oh wow thats neat! They are so cute, and so is the foster mama!

Thanks for sharing!

WabbitCam goes black when we turn the light off so they can have some darkness. It's on most of the day, though. That's 8am to 10pm or so in Eastern Time.

WabbitCam consists of a Linksys wireless webcam and a connection through our Apple Airport Extreme. Basically, you fire the webcam up (which doesn't need a computer to operate, though you need one to configure it), it connects to your existing wired or wireless network, and then to view it from outside your house, you tell the wireless router to allow traffic to come IN to your network on a particular port. Because our bandwidth for outbound traffic isn't large, I set the webcam for 320x240 and a maximum of five frames a second for live video.

The webcam is around $100.

Ah Cool!!! :D

Uh oh... this could be a bad addiction!

At my work people were addicted to Africam which was a watering hole in Africa where one could see lions, elephants, zebra, etc coming to have a drink.

Bunnies are more fun to watch!

Yeah, they tend to sit in the dish while they eat food, so after a while, the food in the dish becomes peppered with little wabbit peppercorns...

They were down in the big pen most of yesterday afternoon and evening, hopping around or sitting in a big pile. We weighed them Saturday and their average weight gain between Day 23 and Day 28 was over 50%. A couple of them now weigh over a pound! The smallest is still a well-proportioned nine ounces, though he or she is really active and strong.
