Turning pellets into powder

Hi all!

I am used to my 4 month seeming like she nibbles on the wood pellets in her litter box to powder. But today I noticed she is doing to her pellets (food). I’m not sure if the wood pellets turn to powder when they get wet or if she chews on them. Maybe she peed in her food dish?

I’ve noticed her chewing on things a lot m Recently and she’s had a couple accidents around the house. I’ll be calling the vet next week to schedule her spay.

Wood pellets crumble when they get moist. This is what happened to the pellets when my bag of wood pellets had gotten moist.
