4 weeks ago my baby started shedding. For the first two weeks I thought that it's something like a spring shedding (though she usually don't shed). When I realized that bold spots doesn't get covered with new fur + she has something like dandruff (white dry substance on fur + skin gets irritated). We went to wet and she was diagnosed with one of two (mites vs sebacious adenitis). Treatment for mites doesn't helped + she lost so much fur in just last week (seems like it's accelerating problem), we went today to vet again.

This time they noticed harder breath & suspected the thymoma. X-ray showed pretty large thymoma, looks like solid.

Doctor says she advises CT + radiotherapy (and would expect 2-3 years) or steroids (but then she wouldn't expect more than year). My bunny is 7 years old.

What to know if any bunny lived longer then 2-3 years after radiation? I'm afraid that there is still risk of not surviving after this. I'm not ready to lose her right now.

I'm so sorry your bun has been diagnosed with this. It must be awful to be in this situation and not know what the best option is. It can be difficult to weigh the difficulty of treatment as well as the quality of life and the stress involved. I think the best treatment depends a lot on your individual rabbit and how she would respond to the stress of each individual treatment choice. I know that some rabbit owners decided on a particular treatment that would be the least stressful for their individual rabbit, and provide the best quality of life in the time remaining. I don't have any personal experience with dealing with thymoma's, but I can provide some links with info and personal stories that may be helpful in making a decision. Wishing the best for you and your bun in this difficult time

Thank you very much. I actually read most of these stories today and was searching a lot. What frustrates me is that all these stories are written no more than 2 years after the diagnosis and I really want to know if there is a chance to overcome 2-3 years limit after radiation.

I can't believe that I didn't noticed her hard breath, I actually saw slight, very slight wincing, kind of very little nodding she does when she was laying down since about 7 months ago, but she did it only when laying down or kind of sleeping, while she was ok when eating or doing something, so I decided that it's probably some kind of sleep-behavior. I was always so paranoic about her health, so WHY this time I decided that it's not something serious instead of taking her to the vet. I hate myself so much for it.

Today I looked at her very carefully, and she actually had few strong wincing after she excitedly ate her favorite food. How come I didn't saw it before?

Other thing that bothers me is that she has something like a bruise on her bold spot since Friday and this dark bruise get muuuch darker in last few days. Doctor saw it today but she say there is no sign of skin infection and it could be a pigmentation. I'm afraid of what it is because it's already went from slight gray to very dark gray...
