the disappearing act

Ok I've had 3 male bunnies and I never saw this before. About 3 weeks ago Bentley showed his testes and I was very happy to finally get him neutered. I called the vet for pricing and was going to take him in for his pre-op next week sometime, he'll be 6 mos old next week. Well last week I checked him and they disappeared!! I think he heard me on the phone with the vet. I've heard they can 'hide' them when I guess they haven't fully dropped.

It looks like they are back so maybe next week I'll try to make an appt for him. I thought it was bizarre how they were there one day and not the next. :?

my very bunny savvy vet explained this to me once! when i took hartleybun for his pre neuter check he , and i quote vet, sucked them back up. ( the bunny that is, not the vet). if said bunny wasnt an ex show bun then i would have doubted the sexing. i just wish i could remember all the technical terms involved! sorry!

the neutering went ahead with hartleybun turning out to be cryptorchid. his neutering is famous as the vet took pics to show his students. im lucky in that the vet specialises in bunnies.

now why did the phrase - looking for a needle in a haystack- spring to mind:?
