Split nail bleeding!! Question?

Just noticed Clyde's front nail is split and bleeding about 3 quarter size amount blood!!! should I leave it alone or put some stop bleed nail stuff on it!!! Will it stop on it's own?? He is licking it a lot? dunno how this happened?

I put styptic powder? on it and the bleeding stopped. he wasn't very happy! when tom gets home will check it out better with 2 people!!!

o no he chewed the powder off and it's still bleeding! please help??

Apply more powder and hold some pressure to stop the bleeding then keep him quiet. You may need to spritz something on his foot so he stops licking it.

you could try corn starch or flour. He may still lick those off. Thumper once broke a nail and it bled he cleaned it and it stopped bleeding on it's own after a short period.

thanks everyone!!! bleeding stopped with flour and pressure. rubbed hot pepper on his foot to keep him away from it!!
