Greetings everybody!
I finally decided to join this forum today which happens to be my Birthday.
I have been following this forum since September/October and have gained
great information about rabbits and how to care for them. I also see there
are very many people dedicated to their pets and each other. The knowledge
and respect is super! Yes this forum is addicting. I see members on line at
5 o'clock in the mornings and at 11 o'clock at night.
I got hooked on bunnies, when we babysat two rabbitsfor two different
friends over the summer holidays. My wife and I knew nothing about rabbits,
and it was a miracle they survived their stay. We had to keep them in separate
areas because one always wanted to mount or fightthe other. We also realized that
we over fed them and spoiled them to much. I did introduce Timothy Hay to
them as I found out that our friends only fed them store bought pellets, greens,
and junk foods.
Since then I have been researching everthing I can about rabbits. I checked
out the Humane Society. In November,I was checking out the different Vets in our
area, I found out that one Doctor had a bunny. It was a 5 month old Netherland
Dwarf that was turned in for euthanasia, because the owners didn't want to pay
for any operations. The operation was for a C-section, a still born that was almost
as big as the mother, spayed operation, and a bite mark on her back. When the
Doctor saw me, she knew right away that I was the right personto adopt the
bunny. It was a big step and I thank the doctor for getting us the bunny.
We named her PEBBLES.
