I finally found a good home for Sox on Sunday. After several months searching and advertising, I got sick of replies from people who just wanted something 'free' but had no real concern or experience with rabbits.

Sox is now with Miranda a lady who is a crazy animal lover. Unfortunately Sox will now have to live outside instead of inside but I am sure she will adjust well. At least now she will have 4 angora rabbits to play with, and lots of cousins like dogs, x 6 cats, guinea pigs, x 5 ferrets, cockatoos, lizards, etc etc.

I had to find Sox a new home as I have pretty bad spondylolisthesis (vertebra slipping onto another) where my disc is nearly completely gone, have nerve compression etc etc. It isn't easy to clean the hutch or chase Sox around in the play pen and the specialist has now advised me I am not to do any bending. Due for a decompression and fusion operation soon and I really can no longer look after her. Even after my operation I won't fully recover for about 6 months. It is sad but I have no choice.

Anyway, glad Sox has found a new home and this will be my last post on rabbitsonline.net. Thanks for all your help in the past guys. I learnt heaps from you guys. Keep up the good work on this forum guys!

Cheers, Carol

That's great that you were able to find your beautiful girl a home..but on a sad note i'm sorry as well...i'm sure you will miss her very much.

I'm sorry to hear about your back problem..it sounds a bit like what my bunny Jack had although it's probably a bit differen't..he was diagnosed with Spondylosis..his vertebrae(sp) was fusing together which made him disabled in the end..i just lost him May 8th.

All the best with your operation...

Carol, I'm sorry to hear you had to rehome Sox because of your back problems. I can't imagine how sad that must have been for you :( I'm glad you were able to find her a good home though and I really hope your back improves!!

sorry to hear about the rehome but glad you found someone you could trust. Know what you're going thru--have three discs left intact--the rest are a bunch of confetti in my spinal fluid according to the pain management clinic doctor after seeing my MRI. Said it was the worst he's ever seen. Good luck with the surgery.

All my best to yourself, and Sox. You are a great bunny mom, Carol  ; she's a lucky little one to have such a caring bun-mom.

I hope Miranda might find her way here at some point, and send us all a Sox update :)

Will be thinking of you in the coming months as you face surgery .
