My goodness I have seen so many different suggestions on here my head is spinning lol. My lil gir Cali died on the 10th of GI Stasis. I thought I was doing everything right, brought her to the vet gave her the antibiotics pellets veggies etc the vet recommended. I even tried suggestions on here, baby gas drops for her gas, canned pumpkin, critical care etc. Why are the views and suggestions so different? My vet says no to pinapple juice and apple juice to water because of natural sugars, she says the baby gas drops do not work, not to get her spayed (our other bun) so when Sally our mini lop started with the gas right after we gave her pellets we stopped pellets, gave her baby gas drops, tried cilentro, pumpkin etc and it got worse! We got home 5 a.m. this morning from the vet again with gas/bloat not pooping etc. I am at a loss! This is a rabbit savvy vet who has owned buns for 16 years telling me she can survive on the hay alone and to eliminate pellets completely add critical care til she poops more and just water not adding anything to it. She said papaya tablets are fine. Blah I am confused about all this advice. Can she really survive on hay alone? She said not to give orchard grass right now either since her belly is so sensitive. Sally loves her timothy grass but I am worried :? Also the whole introduction of veggies, we introduced cilentro and you guessed it she was gassy, when is the "real" time you should introduce veggies? She is almost 11 weeks. Is canned pumpkin really safe? The vet said apple juice has something in it that could kill a bun..dont remember what it was though? Pinapple juice has too much natural sugar? Not to mention the whole calcium thing. What does she need now at this age? How can I supplement her vitamins if she gets an upset belly everytime? :?
