Sisal area rug under new buns cage?

Hi All, I was looking for something to cover our hardwood floor under the new bunnys cage and x pen set up. I found a not very expensive bound sisal area rug at Home Depot and was wondering if that would be a good choice. i looked at linolium but figured I'd need rugs to put on top of that anyways to help with traction. Is sisal safe if bun decides to take a taste? The internet seems to say yes....but I want opinions from bun lovers/owners. :apollo:

I have had toys made with sisal rope. Think it should be alright. It seems I have heard the same thing about them being safe as well.
