If you only want to get one rabbit to show for now I would also look at getting a buck first. We found that, in general, bucks are pretty sweet. Does can be, too, but you can usually tell when young does are getting to the age that they need to be bred...9 months to a year...they can get feisty and some get aggressive. After having a litter they settle down, but they may or may not be showable after that.
