Hi guys, I took some pictures of the shelter bunnies last Sunday because they're so darn cute and I love seeing them.

Let's start with Sweet Pea

Don't let the innocent face fool you

She's so smart we have to put binder clips on her cage, or she'll get out!

(see the black binder clip?)

Next is Bunny Hopkins

A chocolate Dutch with a ridiculous name

He's very fast and very curious

But he's a Dutch so I love him :)

This is Gretta and Gwendolyn

They're a mother-daughter pair

Gretta had a bunch of babies (7?) that got adopted out, usually in pairs. They all looked the same and were pretty mischievous! Gwendolyn loves to thow binkies all over, and Gretta likes to hunt out the other bunnies and try to get in trouble. Gwendolyn also sits on top of her box, which is cute! They're a lively, funny pair that's been there for too long, in my opinion. They'd make a great pair for a starter bunny family!

Next is Allie

She's very cute but a bit scared when you try to pick her up. She does the best dead bunny flops I've ever seen!

She really likes to rearrange her cage.

And finally, my current favorite: Timmothy

He's a tort dutch

And he looks like a chunky version of my Tony

"Did you call me chunky?"

I had to wipe some poo of his underside because he can't quite clean his bum correctly. I took him to the sink, held him there, and wiped him down with a wet washcloth. I also did nail trims and scent glands and all the well-bunny checks on him, and then I put him on the ground for a bushing/petting to remove all his molting hair. He started licking me so I put him on my lap.

He just blissed out while I gave him a massage

Totally relaxed

Timmothy is a real love-bun!

I think you have a bias towards the Dutchies, Claire ;)

Allie has certainly mastered the DBF :)
What a beautiful bunch of bunners! I sure hope they all find wonderful homes very soon... but not before you get some more pics :D

Thanks guys! I do have a soft spot for the dutches. :inlove:

Sweet Pea is about to go to her new home tomorrow!

So Cute!

How are you grooming timothy? I can never get my rabbit to sit still for grooming. I can trim his nails but he wont let me brush him. Are you just using your hands?

I did just pet Timmothy to get the fur out. I kinda massaged all along his back and the fur just stuck to my hands or came off in fur tumbleweeds. Another good way to get fur off a bunny is to wet your hands and run them through their fur. The loose stuff will stick to your hands. I know we have a member who sits down with a bowl of water and some paper towels to groom the buns. She gets her hands wet, runs them through the coat, and then wipes off the wet-ish fur onto the paper towel, and repeats. :)

OMG Timmothy looks so adorable and loving. I love Allie's DBF.

I have never been to a shelter that had rabbits before so I don't know if this is usual. But I was surprised in your photo's the size of the cages and the toys and boxes they have inside their cages and outside. It looks nice. Not as nice as having their own home, but nicer then I imaged.

I hope you share more pictures again. I enjoyed seeing them.
